Pros: Nice print quality and color, especially on copies. Good speed once it gets warmed up. Makes sounds that confound cats.
Cons: Can make thin paper a bit soggy and wrinkly.
Other Thoughts: The "value pack" of ink cartridges listed as a recommended accessory for this printer contains six ink cartridges you don't need for this printer and is missing two that you do need. Don't buy it (especially since you can't return it for a refund under NewEgg policy).

Pros: Quiet, fast, beautiful. Photo quality is not top of the line but you know, this is an office printer and its quality is OK. If you want a high quality photo print, use matt paper not glossy one. I can see the roller trails on a dark area if I use glossy paper. This printer uses pigment base ink that means highly water resistant. Very important if you print labels that could expose to the elements. First thing I always do when I buy a printer is putting the print (plain paper) under running water. No damage to the print. FAX capability is also wonderful.
Cons: Big. And installation. This is not an UPnP printer so first time you set up, you have to connect to a PC via USB cable even you have a network. Once you go through this first time USB base setup, installing the driver on the other networked PCs is simple. There's no full printed manual included. Full manual is provided onscreen help only so if you are a geek who wants to understand every bit of Printer/FAX Setting, you might be frustrated to search the article you want.
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a nice printer and I love it. I think this printer worth for money.

Pros: Lost of features auto duplexing etc. Feels like its built solid its HEAVY!! Print quality is pretty good. Design looks good controls are easy to understand. While set up may take a little while its pretty simple.
Cons: I printed about 10 pages of photos and maybe 20 pages of text over 2 weeks and then my printer broke!!!!! It wont print black and white only pictures. It restarts itself repeatedly and gives me the b300 error. I should say that this is a rebuilt machine but that just makes me think that maybe this is what was wrong before and it wont stay fixed. I'm worried.
Other Thoughts: Canon was very helpful and gave me the option to send out another one or take it to a local repair facility. It's been in the shop about 4 days right now they had to order parts I'm hopefully/worriedly waiting to see how it works out.

Pros: I am very happy with this product. It is far more than what I needed but it is great. I have printed photos and they turn out real nice. I hooked it up USB, it took me awhile to get everything checked out and up and Running. I did get the card slot to work as well.
I like the idea of the separate colors of ink to replace instead of all. I do a lot of printing. Cards, photo and such.
Scanner works great, also was able to hook up the fax OK, Just make sure you read the directions real close on how to do.
I ordered from New Egg and as always great service!! Fast delivery.
Cons: I do not have any Yet!

Dead after less than a week!

Pros: Auto-duplex printing, 4-in-1 capabilities, made in Japan.
Cons: DEAD after less than a week!!!! Error code B300, which is impossible to find in any manual/troubleshooter. All the menus are unaccessible. Hardly 20 pages printed (including 4 for calibration!) I wanted to pay some extra money, just to avoid the hassle of dealing with cheap manufacture; thought that would be the case. It turned out exactly the opposite and at the time I needed the printer the most. Now I have to wait a week or so until the new printhead arrives, and no one even knows if that will correct the problem. Conclusion? No more Canon on my desk. Period.
Other Thoughts: On the phone, their customer service was pretty good, although they didn't know themselves what the "Error Code B300" means.
