Pros: Very happy with the photo output with this and DDI Software's Qimage. Text is crisp. The printer seems to be built very well compared to HP models. Wireless networking a huge plus for me because it allows me to get it out of the way. Scanner can do negatives and slides... another nice thing. Unike Epson printers, it has a removable print head.
Cons: I might understand why the user "Strickt", called it flimsy... The paper trays are a bit flimsy, but usuable. Ink costs always hinder these. No faxing on this all in one.
Other Thoughts: After a month and a half with this printer, I can say I am very happy with it. I can't bring myself to give it five stars because of ink costs.

Pros: A bit confused at what dude was trying to say above me...At one point he says this unit is "FLIMSY" and "YOU HAVE TO HANDLE IT LIKE A CARTON OF EGGS" or something to that effect, then he goes on to say its too big and heavy...This thing is anything but FLIMSY!
Bottom line here - Everything, and I mean everything this unit claim to do, it does great. Setting up wireless to 2 or more PC's could not be much easier! On top of all that, it scans negativesand slides, and does a fine job on that also. Tanks are small, but considering this is a 6 tank system, I think it is fine
Cons: This is kind of large for a desktop printer, but really not too bad... Dont really have much bad to say about this unit after coming from years of living with HP PRINTER JUNK, this thing is a dream. I wish it had a bit more easy 1 "type" touch pad for making a qucik copy of something...
Other Thoughts: Nice to have a printer that has the more than one ink tank to produce color prints. Depending on what you are printing, you might run low on a certain color, like CYAN for example and still have plenty of yellow and magenta in those tanks, then you only NEED to REPLACE the CYAN cartridge...Looking around quickly it looks like you can get a replacement tanks for about 12 bucks each for any of the 6, and that was just a quick look...Probably some even cheaper out there....

Pros: Great functions but positive reviews were misleading
Cons: Ink heads clean every time the machine is turned on and results in incredible waste of ink for casual users. Better to leave machine on and be sure to print at least once per week. Consider RIHAC or other continuous ink supply system (CISS). Hopefully, Canon will provide download to better manage ink usage - until then, this printer cannot be recommended.

Pros: Excellent image quality, copies photos very well, great scanning. Easy to set up, wireless networking built in has been flawless for XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
Cons: ABSURDLY short ink life. Laughably pathetic in fact.
Other Thoughts: The ink life makes this printer absolutely worthless. I'm closing in on the end of my third set of inks. Each set got maybe 20 - 50 pages of normal text and maybe some color with very few (if any) photos.
Either it uses ink when it's not printing, or it uses ink when it turns on or off or something. Absolutely infuriating to have spent so much on ink.
It's a GREAT printer but avoid at all costs.

Pros: Awesome Printer. works great. prints nice. what you would expect at its price.
Cons: Poor follow up by Canon. I made sure when I sent in the rebate (triple checked) that all the info was in the envelope. They sent me back a letter stating I did not send everything. Part of my purchase decision was based on rebate. I'll second guess buying anything Canon and expecting money back from rebate. You should too.
