Canon's newest addition to the popular PIXMA Office AIO (All-In-One) printer line-up, the PIXMA MX860, is a must have for any home office professional. For the first time, Wireless LAN (802.11b/g) capabilities and Ethernet network connection are built into a PIXMA Office AIO printer for easy printing and scanning with multiple personal computers.
This PIXMA printer not only prints photo-lab quality photos on your desktop, but it scans photographs at 2400 x 4800 resolution, and delivers a quick 27 second first-copy-out time (FCOT) for color documents! The fax memory can store up to 250 incoming pages, and transmits at 33.6 Kbps, allowing quicker response time on your fax line.
The 5-color ink system will print rich, lasting copies of your photos at resolutions up to 9600 x 2400, in about 41 seconds. Whether you're printing on letter or legal sized plain paper, envelopes, or photo paper from credit card-sized to 8 x 10", you'll be amazed at the sharp, crisp text, and brilliant, detailed photos that come from 2,368 precision nozzles carefully placing uniform, 1-picoliter ink droplets! The Cannon PIXMA is a necessity for any efficient business or home office.
Pros: Excellent, office quality, printing with the flexibility of faxing and a terrific ADF scanner. I bought this to use in my professional office (Healthcare), where it gets reasonably heavy use for document printing, faxing and scanning (into Paperport). Print quality has been first-rate. Ink costs are reasonable and ink consumption is decent. I did not buy this to be a photo printer, although I am also an amateur photographer and have done a some prints on this machine - print quality is outstanding. After a month of use, I decided to buy another for my wife's office. I agree with one of the other reviewers - it is amazing what you get for the price!
Cons: No cons. Other reviewers have commented that wireless was difficult to set up but I opted for USB. Getting the machine up and running was a snap.
Other Thoughts: I replaced a 5 year old HP professional office jet printer - ink costs on the HP were phenomenal - replacing all 4 cartridges on the HP was more expensive than buying the Canon printer with ink! Ink replacement costs on the Canon are Far cheaper than for the HP. Between my home and my office, I now have 3 Canon printers (with a fourth on the way). I've dumped all but one of my HPs. All of the Canons provide outstanding print quality and perfect photos. This is the newest printer and the best of the lot - I like the multiple ink cartridges (including 2 blacks - one for print, one for photo) and ink cost/economy is quite acceptable.

Great Printer

Pros: It's incredible what less than $200 buys you today. This printer is incredible. The colors on pictures is better than my Epson R800, and probably as good or better than most dedicated color printers. It prints very quickly and reasonably quiet.
Cons: Hooking up the printer wireless can be a hassle if this is the first time. Look below for suggestions.
Other Thoughts: I wanted to install this printer wired and wireless at the same time to my desktop and some laptops. Not a good idea! The first thing you have to do is decide how you are going to hook up the printer, wired or wireless for every computer, -you can't "reliably" do both ways at the same time. Make sure that your router is open and not MAC filtered or your firewall is active. (you can adjust all of that after the install)

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Great looking printer, easy set-up, prints brilliant pictures, quiet, compact, wireless technology, dual paper feeds, quick scanning
Cons: Lower paper tray sticks at times, faster scanning requires USB cable
Other Thoughts: I purchased a Canon Multipass MF80 seven years ago. I used it to print documents for school, pictures for scrapbooks, etc. It finally quit printing photos. I loved it so much, I wanted another Canon. This printer fits the bill for all I want to do. I have printed and printers since I've had it. You will not be disappointed with this printer. I bought the printer from Newegg on 11/18/09 for $159.99. It is now priced at $119.99. Why the drastic drop in price?? Wish I would have waited.

Pros: Fast, simple lots of functions. Does everything I need it to do. Software gives lots of printing options and functionallity. Two sided printing and copies work well too. Easy ink and cartridge changes. Dual paper source comes in handy. This is the best printer I've ever purchased with functions of a large office machine. LOVE the wireless functions... works quickly and without issue. Liked it so much I bought a second one for my sister.. and even walked HER through the wireless network install! Simple.. clean ...love'n it.
Cons: Obviously for the high level of funtions, the foot print is larger then ideal.. for me that is. I probably need to adjust my printing, however I am finding myself replacing ink often... but cost is less then my Espson. So no "true" downsides.
Other Thoughts: Should have purchased sooner
