This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I was in the market for a replacement for my HP CM1015. I was going to spend in the 300-400 range for a monochrome laser all in one with a document feeder. After looking around I realized all of these expensive all in one's were missing a very important feature for me, the ability to scan to a USB thumb drive as PDF's. After looking around I altered my plan of attack and couldn't be happier. I bought one of these because it had all of the scanning options I needed for less than 100 dollars shipped. Set-up was very easy. I have it set up on an all mac network through apple talk. It is not hooked up directly to the network, it is through a Mac-Mini. I can print from any computer on the network and, even better, I can scan from any computer on the network also. Also, even though I won't use it to print, it does produce very nice photo prints, if this is something you are looking for.
Cons: It's an inkjet. I personally like lasers for printing so I bought a cheapie samsung monochrome laser just for printing. Overall, I spent about $230 for the two items. So I cam in way under my initial budget for way more features between the two.
Other Thoughts: Seeing as the price of the cheapest stand alone scanners with document feeders is around $200, this is a great deal, even if you are just using it as a document scanner. Also has a traditional fax feature. I won't use this as efaxing has become a better solution for me, but it does have this feature also.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: - Simple and easy set-up - Easy to use controls - Dedicated phone line for fax - Excellent print speed and quality. - No gouging with the print cartridge prices
And as always, the Egg got it to me quickly and with little fuss. Well done.
Cons: A bit of bloatware included on the driver disc. But by now I have come to expect this. On the plus side, you are given the option to not install much of this.
Other Thoughts: I purchased this to replace an HP multi-function. Up until this point I had owned nothing but HP but decided to try something different. My printers don't really see heavy use, perhaps 10-20 sheets a month. But the other printers seemed to have a prescribed 24-36 month work cycle built in, I decided to try something different.
I find it amusing that people are dinging this and other printers because they are not coming with USB cables. First of all, not including a cable keeps the price down. Second of all, USB has been around long enough now that anyone who owns a computer should have at least a couple of USB cables kicking around. I suggest ignoring the 1 star reviews of Luddites.

Awesome Machine!

Pros: Inexpensive, great print quality, does everything!
Cons: NOT ONE!
Other Thoughts: Looked around for what seemed to be an inexpensive machine with good quality. This one had great reviews so I got it. I've always been an HP man - been disappointed with Lexmark, extremely disappointed with kodak, and my last HP was junk. I think I may now be a Canon man. This thing prints well and the ink lasts longer than other printers I've had. Very happy with it!

Great inexpensive machine
Reviewed By: Stevo on 11/6/2009
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
Pros: Low cost, does everything, great prints, low ink consumption
Cons: none yet!
Other Thoughts: Had an inexpensive HP for about a year before it died. It drank ink like a drunken sailor so I tried something new. Bought a kodak printer that was supposed to use less ink. The prints were absolutely horrible - grainy, lines through them, colors missing even on a new cartridge - and the ink ran out faster than on the HP! - you could actually see the ink monitor drop after ONE print. So I chucked the Kodak after a few months but didn't want to spend a lot on a new printer. After reading the reviews I thought I would try the Cannon MX330. The prints look great and after a lot of color printing there is still some ink left. The printer will take large capacity ink cartridges (that cost just a bit more than a regular one.) Love this machine - scans and copies look good too. Thought for the cost that I would be getting yet another mediocre printer - My first Canon inkjet and I love it.
