5 out of 5 eggsFabulous value

Pros: Got this on sale for more than $200 off. Fast shipment. Easy to setup. Was printing in no time. Prints really well. Scans come across top notch for what we need. Does everything our office needed. Got rid of a bunch of other hardware that this one takes place of.

Cons: Bottom paper tray feels very lightweight. Not a big deal but I think if it got dropped in anyway that it would break pretty easily. Takes a bit of time to warm up to print.

5 out of 5 eggsPerfect!

Pros: This printer had everything I needed at a price I could afford. Excellent Scanning Utility.

Cons: The price of the toner seems a bit steep, but that comes with the color laser territory.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat!

Pros: Excellent print quality, good print speed, quiet

Cons: "Starter" toner cartridges only last a short time

Other Thoughts: I've had this printer for about 6 months now, and I am vary happy with it overall. I use it on a home network, with various computers using WinXP 32-bit, Vista and Win7 64-bit, and have absolutely no problem with any of the features on any of the computers. I could care less about its compatibility with Linux or Mac OS, and I think probably 90% of the users here feel the same. Giving it a downcheck because it doesn't work with your Linux box is not a fair review.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Printer but not for Linux

Pros: Good quality color prints out of the box. Quiet orthough a little slow. Everything works well under the Windows 7 environment.

Cons: No software drivers for Linux users makes this MFP useless. Too bad for Canon.

Other Thoughts: I use Linux Mint for my home OS computing. I never had trouble finding the drivers online on other brand name printers so I didn't think twice about doing a little research before I made this purchase. As of 10/07/2010, Canon does not support ANY Linux OS which is a shame. I'm returning it to newegg and purchasing the HP equivalent instead which does support a Linux environment.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: When it did print, it came out clear and and good

Cons: scanner settings, the toolbox program and the scanner buttons have to be BOTH be pressed. You may be able to change these in the settings, but if you want to scan you have to press multiple buttons on the actual machine and on the computer.

Printer takes a long time to process data... If you are just printing a page it only takes a few seconds, but if you start another print job it will freeze up the printer for about 3 minutes and then start it.

Honestly, there isn't much that i did like about this printer.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this printer for a huge full color flyer job. It worked correctly for the first 3 pages and then started messing up. From only printing yellow to half correct pages to missing blue on some and red on others. I am just glad newegg is good about taking products back.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb printer

Pros: Very happy with this purchase. Everything works as advertised. Would recommend this product.

Cons: I do work with some custom paper sizes and the setup of these on the front control panel is confusing at times.

Other Thoughts: Wonderful value and an awesome printer

4 out of 5 eggsLack of Information about Mac Drivers

Pros: Great print quality, overall easy set-up, ease of use.

Cons: Missing software drivers for Mac.

Other Thoughts: Just received the multifunction printer today and printed out the first few test copies. The quality of the prints and overall ease of setup has been great...except one hitch. Mac users are left to figure out where to get drivers. Fortunately, I've done this kind of thing enough I was aware that drivers are usually made available by manufacturers on their websites. The included CD that came in the box has all the drivers for Windows, however nowhere in the quick start guide or manual are there instructions for the Mac user. Part of reason I like Canon for photo and print purposes, besides their overall attention to detail and quality, is their ease of use with the Mac platform. Canon dropped the ball on this one. An otherwise easy to read and simple guide makes this glaring omission...which I'm sure has been a source of frustration for many.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: Newegg got it here in one day1! without express shipping. Set up was typical, prints crisp, color copy and printing accurate. Seems like a great value for a color laser.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: I have not done that much printing yet, but very satisfied with this printer since I received it. I have several Canon printing products that work well in a small office. This computer replaced a Brother CN9420, which never worked the way I hoped. I admit a bias towards Canon, just because of my very positive experience. I would give it 5 stars, except for the limited time I have had it.
