2 out of 5 eggsNOT RELIABLE

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: Not recognized reliably by Windows 7 64-bit, no catch tray

Other Thoughts: I'm about to RMA this thing. Every time I want to print I have to uninstall this printer and all of the drivers. Then, I reinstall drivers and boot the computer with the USB plugged in. Then, I turn on the printer and cross my fingers. I bought it as an ad hoc machine to use IF I needed to print, otherwise it would have already gone back. I figure its not the cable since it works sometimes. I don't know. Don't buy this printer unless you've got some spare time and a little aspirin. None of the forums are giving me answers so, back it goes!

5 out of 5 eggsBest small printer for the $$

Pros: Compact, beautiful, super quality for the low price, creates amazingly great photos and is really stingy on ink usage. I love the fact that it comes with full size ink cartridges and that the software and printed documentation that ships with this is so detailed and informative.

Cons: Will not print from a memory card.

Other Thoughts: This replaced a 2 year old Canon IP2600 that had performed flawlessly the entire time I owned it. I praised the older model to everyone I knew, saying it was hands down the best compact printer available and well worth the price. I gave that one to my step mom because at $23 with 2 day shipping, the recent IP2702 deal Newegg offered was too great to pass up. It amazes me that Canon can build such quality and performance into a budget printer. I have owned other brands of printers but found Canon to be far superior, this little miracle trumps the performance of a competing brand I had before that cost 3X as much, and uses less ink to boot. Why can't all electronics come with the excellent printed owners manuals that Canon provides?

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Excellent little printer for a little price, if that's what you need. It fits the role admirably and there's no "Catch-22" beyond the obvious limitations.

Cons: No tray to catch the print-outs. That's really my only complaint. At this price, I'm willing to find an ad hoc solution to the problem without deducting an "egg."

Other Thoughts: I see many people complaining about the noise - well, there's a setting for this printer, "Quiet Mode," that would help you out. It also has "Power Off" (auto-off) and "Auto Power" (auto-on) functions that work even over a network, making it quite convenient for printing in a small network setting. I only used the driver and none of the Canon software, and all of its functions were still available through Windows. I also see people complaining that it doesn't come with a USB cable. No printer I have ever purchased has; I recommend you buy one online (I won't list the place to get them to avoid breaking review guidelines, but they're super cheap compared to store prices). The ink is actually pretty affordable compared to most printers, and you can purchase it directly from the vendor for a respectable price, although like all printers it goes through the color quite rapidly.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job

Pros: Does the job & does it well. Not sure how long the ink lasts & what cartridges cost. Outperforms my HP Inkjet Photo R200 (7 cartridges!) in all aspects including premium color prints

Cons: Bulky, load, and about a minute from power on to print, but who can complain at the price. Does not come with USB cable, but there again, for the price....

5 out of 5 eggsCanon PIXMA iP2702

Pros: The price of the printer's cheaper than the ink to refill it!
Good quality on each print, and the printer itself is very, very lightweight.

Cons: The price of the printer's cheaper than the ink to refill it?

5 out of 5 eggsGreat entry level printer

Pros: I was surprised by the quality of the printer. It does make noise, but theres a "quiet mode", which print slightly more slowly and make significantly less noise. I always use it on this quiet mode and it doesn't wake up anyone. There is no paper tray, but there's and extendable tongue which does the job. Ink cartridge are also relatively affordable. Since I don't use it often, I like how everything can be closed, so no dust get's in. Works very well with Windows 7 64

Cons: You need to provide your own A male to B male USB 2.0 cable.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It's a cheap printer... cheaper than buying replacement cartridges, which means that I will probably just buy a new one and donate this one when the ink runs out. Works right out of the box with an internet connection.

Cons: A bit loud, but cheap enough to offset that slight con. The hardest part about setting it up was trying to remember what I did with my old usb cable as this one does not come with one.

Other Thoughts: Just what I was hoping for. Works well and it's practically disposable.

5 out of 5 eggsVery happy

Pros: This printer was super cheap, easy to set up with my mac, prints black and white quickly, and I was quite impressed with the photo printing. It also includes a small photo paper sampler (which when you only use it occasionally, as I do, can last quite awhile).

Cons: The black and white text is very slightly fuzzy, but certainly fine for my purposes, and it's possible aligning the print heads or something would improve it as well. I've heard ink can be pricey, but haven't had to replace it yet.

Other Thoughts: I just need a printer for occasionally printing forms or photos, and this is amazingly cheap and high quality.
