5 out of 5 eggsGreat Home Printer

Pros: Very good printer, print very fast, scan and fax.

Cons: Dimmed my lights momentarily when start printing. no auto duplex printing and no network plug (already knows beforehand).

Other Thoughts: Got at sale. For sale the price, its a great printer. Only usb no network. Plug it in my low power HTPC and configured it as a print server now every laptop and desktop in the house can print from it remotely.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent

Pros: Fantastic for a price/performance mix! I bought it at $109.99. Short 1st page warm up/print, operates quietly, hight print speed, all in one function. auto feeder scan is very easy to use and so convenient if you need to scan a lot documents.

Cons: scan in the flatbed seems not good enough, i see darker light in the middle of the scan area, i will try to scan more to determine if this actually affect the image from scanner.

Other Thoughts: bought at only $109.99, an unbeatable price for a all-in-one machine, and it's Canon! just can believe it! And yet, it works much better than my old Xerox all-in-one, as it's quieter and faster.

4 out of 5 eggsa bit disappointed

Pros: Footprint, image quality, print speed,

Cons: no duplex printing! I have bought one Canon MF4150 and two MF4350's and all three have duplex capabilities. I have enjoyed the reliability of these printers, the 4150 is over 4 years old with many copies through it, in a dusty office environment. the newest of the 4350's developed a paper jam that once the paper was removed the fault never cleared. A call to Canon didn't help, they suggest sending it to a service center. I just couldn't see how that would be economical paying shipping both ways and what ever service fee and parts might be run. Anyway assumed that the 4450 was the latest release of the ones I've had with at least the same features, but no duplex printing. Oh and the cartridge is different than the other MF, so I ahve another one to stock.

Other Thoughts: I use a good quality quill multipurpose paper, 20#, 92 brightness for the last 3 years, I do not know how a lesser quality paper will work.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat value

Pros: Low cost, affordable toner/drum combo, I have seen about 2500 pages out of a single toner cartridge.

Cons: No wi fi capability even as an add on.

Other Thoughts: For a small office this multi function printer will do fine.

1 out of 5 eggsPoor execution, Canon

Pros: Low price when I purchased ($119), fast shipping by New Egg.

Cons: Poor B&W scan quality. I have to scan my documents in color because the B&W scan does such a poor job. The B&W copies that I've tried to make I have to significantly increase the Density for them to come out clear. I had a Brother previously that worked fantastic.

It's surprisingly loud when it operates. It's so loud and at such a high pitch that I thought my daughter was crying the first few times I scanned or made copies with it.

Other Thoughts: I hate the thought of sending this back because shipping is going to kill the deal, but I am so dissatisfied with this that I will bite the bullet and send it back.

I've had 3 Canon cameras that were fantastic, but this all-in-one does not cut it.

I'd stay away.

4 out of 5 eggsCanon quality, all the way

Pros: -Great scanner, canon optics
-fax works brilliantly in windows
-driver-only setup doesn't restrict functionality
-cheap toner (between 35 and 80 USD for a 2500 impression cartridge)
-Convenient setup
-Quality build

Cons: -no integrated network printing/print server (almost non-existant on this grade of printer)
-USB socket a little tight for my liking, but not really a con

Other Thoughts: I've worked with printers for a number of years from companies like konika minolta, canon, heidelberg, ryobi and xerox. Generally speaking if I want quality, a machine I know will work reliably without hassle, I'm either digging an HP Laserjet 4000 series out of a garbage bin or shopping canon.

Like most things canon, the estimation of PPM, impression count and capabilities are conservative, so you're actually getting more than you pay for in that regard, I clocked mine as actually putting out 30ppm (simplex). The best part of it for me is that it's doesn't infest your computer with applications and services mandatory for the printer to function. Install the drivers and you're done, complete with real canon driver configuration!

If you absolutely must have a print server for your home or office, I recommend getting an Asus EEE top and a nice powered usb hub for ~200 USD to serve as your device share for everything. This can also double as a VPN endpoint if you're so inclined.
