1 out of 5 eggsNot Responding

Pros: None

Cons: Could not get to work with Win7 Pro SP1 64-bit. Searched Microsoft Knowledge Base, Canon Knowledge Base, tried all steps they suggested, nothing worked.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer -- Itty Bitty Ink Tanks

Pros: Printer is beautiful, well-constructed with heavy-duty plastic all around. Speed, paper handling, print quality all excellent.

Cons: Inadequate ink supply for printer size.

Other Thoughts: One would think that a large-format printer, which could be expected to use larger amounts of ink, would have adequate-sized ink cartridges. Not this one. In fact, the discrepancy is so great as to be almost laughable (if it weren't so disappointing).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

Pros: Got this for grad school. Excellent, love the duplex printing, scanning is easy, and wifi, well there's no other way to do it now.

Cons: I don't understand how you use magenta and cyan ink when using grayscale only printing but I have other things to worry about.

1 out of 5 eggsIck...the one I got was a dog.

Pros: Price is right...after finally getting it to print, grayscale was pretty good. 4x6 should not be a problem...which is the problem...anything larger is like looking at printing on corduroy pants.

Cons: This one would not properly align the printhead...as was evidenced by the corduroy pants effect of the first 8x10 I printed. I run W7 64 bit...and only bought this printer after my HP died (another long story). This Canon had good reviews so I went for it...but to cut it short...I wasted way too much time trying to figure out the horrible software...and to get it to actually print...and so...the corduroy lines...in just 8x10...I just took it back. I wasted hours just getting it to print...and the results were really bad. Might be only this particular one...who knows...I can't recommend...maybe the higher priced models from Canon are better...but this one is about what you expect for the price...low price, low quality...lots of aggrevation. Not worth it.

Other Thoughts: The one I got might have just been a dud...but I'm not willing to invest a lot more time to find out.

4 out of 5 eggsbulky and old fashion

Pros: Heavy and well-built, functional and easy to use, accommodating various sizes of paper, up to 13" width. Printing speed is fast enough. Very decent image quality even for photos.

Cons: Ink tanks are rather small for such a printer which are good for lightweight home office use.

Doesn't print on both sides automatically, this is a surprise to me. Must be a very old printer design. A smaller size Canon all-in-one can print both sides easily. You have to flip and load papers manually to get the dual side printing jobs done.

Besides the most essential printer driver Canon also force the users to load a lot of software, which are fairly useless.

Other Thoughts: A good home office printer.
