Pros: Very nice prints. Ink cartridges don't dry out if unused for a few months. I like how you can close up all the doors on it to keep out the dust. 4x6 print speed is quick.
Cons: Ink cost but this is expected. All inkjets have expensive ink. It's a big printer make sure you have the room for it.
Other Thoughts: If you are getting streaking check your print speed/quality settings. The default set when I started using the printer was for highest speed. This may have changed since but produced horrible prints. It's still fairly quick even on highest quality settings.
When newegg and epson had some rebates going on at the same time I was able to get this printer for about $120 + shipping.

Pros: I take a lot of sports photos and, sometimes, the image needs a larger print format to convey the power of the moment. However, I resisted buying the 13x9 ink jet because the times I would use it never seemed to justify the price. I could always send photos out to get large format prints. When Newegg lowered the price on the EPSON 1400 and then added a $30.00 off promotion code, I couldn't resist. So far, I've only made two prints through Photoshop (turning off color management at the printer) and using the EPSON photo glossy paper. I am very pleased with the results.
Cons: As stated freqently in the reviews, ink is the money pit with the 1400. I haven't used third party inks through replacement cartridges or Continuos Ink Systems, but I've been doing some research on the subject.
Other Thoughts: There are better large format photo printers with a wider range of inks. The 1400 does a great job for my casual printing. If I need more "professional" results, I can send the files out to any number of good print services.
