The printer’s 2.5” LCD monitor leads you through the user-friendly menu system, and shows you photos to edit or print. 2 out of 5 eggscartridge not recognized

Pros: Great print quality and speed. Enough to satisfy any home user. Ability to print on CDs & DVDs. Copying and scanning capability is must have. Cartridge last for long time, if you don't go crazy.

Cons: Ink cartridge is not recognized. Apparently, this is some kind of hardware problem. Updating driver and software did not work. The printer will display "Ink cartridge is not recognized" upon replacing ink. Nothing seems to work. I might have to return this to Epson. It is a shame when an authentic Epson product is not recognized by its own.

Other Thoughts: This problem is not discussed at Epson website when there are so many echoing voices. This printer has worked so well for me and it is sad to let go for such a simple hardware error.

3 out of 5 eggsGood pics, but not without problems

Pros: The scanner works great, the prints come out lab quality, you can print without a computer.

Cons: The one I got has always had problems with ink cartridges. It seems like even new cartridges can be hit or miss.

Other Thoughts: I also had a warranty issue when I first got it. I went through the service process and finally got it working with a combination of the original and warranty replacement ink cartridges. It took more work than it should have.

Also, during the warranty process Epson charged me for the replacement printer (which I sent back) and I couldn't get the charge reversed, nor would Epson hear my argument. In the end of the story I paid more than the retail price listed on newegg for the warranty replacement as well as the initial cost that I originally payed.

Soon I'll be adding an 11x17 photo printer and I probably won't be buying another Epson.
So, the printer get 4 eggs, but Epson only get 1.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT

Pros: I'VE HAD BROTHER AND HP THEY ARE GOOD AND YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR IN PRINTERS- USALLY-BUT THIS PRINTER IS GREAT YOU GET THE HIGH CAPACITY INK SUPPLY WHICH BY THE WAY IS AROUND 70-80$ BUT IT IS WORTH IT, THE QUALITY SURPASSES MY EXPECTATIONS AND CD'S COME OUT EXCELLENT VERY USER FRIENDLY I WOULD DEF. BUY AGAIN ALL SOFTWARE WORKS WELL FOR HOME USE

Cons: NONE EXCEPT THE INK IS PRICEY BUT IT DRYS FAST AND IS QUALITY INK WILL LAST ALONG TIME

Other Thoughts: SAYS TO LET CD DRY FOR 24HRS USE VERBATIM AND THEY DRY TO THE TOUCH IN MINUTES SCAN YOUR CD OR DVD ON AUTO AND PRINT ON YOUR BACKUP COPY IT'S HARD TO TELL THE DIFFERENCE MAKE SURE YOU BUY PRINT TO HUB INK JET

1 out of 5 eggsPrinter fiasco!

Pros: Looks pretty.

Cons: Nothing more than a paperweight, have to wait now for Epson to replace it, won't recognize any ink cartridges... what a piece!

Other Thoughts: DO NOT BLOW YOUR MONEY!

1 out of 5 eggsPoor Printer

Pros: None!

Cons: The printer was unable to recognize the ink cartridges, although they were the cartridges that shipped with it from Epson! now I am waiting 5 to 7 days for a replacement and had to place a hold on my credit card, (for more than the purchase price), until they receive the defective one back...

Other Thoughts: I thought I might save a little dough... I guess not...

4 out of 5 eggsMagic INK

Pros: Nice black finish printer with flash card reader on the front. Scanner does it's best and can place multiple pictures and scan them individually. Prints nice Quality photo like pictures. Comes with a CD tray to print on printable CDs and DVDs. Card reader is also faster then the one I have installed on my PC.

Cons: No usb cable with the unit so must have one handy before the unit arrives, so don't be surprised. Ink is expensive but what Ink isn't. But for the price I expect the Machine not to run my cartridges dry so fast.

Other Thoughts: It's bulky but it is not a flimsy plastic made as most printers.

4/5 Printer........10/5 For newegg on their speedy service

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I have not used this specific printer, but I just want to point out that the software Epson makes to create print-to-CD projects ("Epson PrintCD") is vastly superior to the similar software produced by HP. Epson PrintCD is a bit clunky (especially under Vista), but you can do almost anything with it, whereas the HP software severely limits you to a handful of templates and an inferior number of available text effects.

Cons: In my personal experience, Epson printers tend to get clogged nozzles a bit more often than other brands. Like most other printer companies, Epson likes to play games with getting you to use more ink than you strictly need to. The image output quality of the "Stylus Photo Rx series" is exceptional when the nozzles are not clogged.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Printer Under $500

Pros: Previously owned a RX580. The 595 replaced it. Colors are brilliant, especially on high gloss paper for photos. Compares to prints developed in a photo shop. DVD label graphics are incredible. I have printed over 400 DVD labels in less than 2 years and have had no problems. On my first set of the high capacity cartridges and they look to double my printing time. Ordered from Newegg and received in two days. NEWEGG ROCKS!!!!!

Cons: None and don't think I will have any.

Other Thoughts: Epson is the best color injet printer on the market and while some are trying, Epson is the King of printing directly to a CD or DVD

3 out of 5 eggsWorn out CD tray in 2 yrs

Pros: Very good quality photo printer. Easy to use. Great for small business to print their own CDs on occassion. Use Waterproof glossy Cds (brand: Taiyo Yuden Watershield) AWESOME!

Cons: We printed about 100 CDs per year for 2 years and now the CD tray will not pull in CDs anymore, the rollers seem to have worn out. If you plan to print alot of CDs, buy something like the DYMO 1738260 Disc Printer instead and it will last much longer.

Other Thoughts: Very good printer if you won't be doing many CDs.
