Zipping along at 20 pages per minute in color (38 ppm in black and white) at traditional resolutions, it can also take its time and offer you resolutions of up to 5760 x 1440 dpi in both color and black and white -- and you thought your photos looked good on your old printer! Nor is this powerhouse power-hungry: while printing, it consumes about fifteen watts, about the equivalent to two old nightlights. Your hard drive probably uses more than that.

A fast USB 2.0 port means neither your printer nor computer will ever have to wait for the interface to catch up. So do your homework and decide for yourself. Then buy a quality printer inexpensive enough to do your homework on.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Love this printer, Epson printers have always worked well for me. Does double sided printing.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: It's worth paying a little more for the printer. Especially when having to replace the ink cartridges. If you know where to look its a lot cheaper for the ink then most other printers around.

3 out of 5 eggsUnimpressive low-quality Epson

Pros: Lasted a reasonably long time, decent print quality for light use.

Cons: Ink expensive and not long-lasting. Stopped working after light use over a course of several years. Questionable construction quality.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this printer several years ago for around $30 on sale from a retailer, and for that price, it has been a successful printer, lasting for nearly 3 years, through several moves and tough print jobs. However, I would not recommend purchasing this printer now, at this price. Newer low-end printer models have come out since this one, with higher quality, or lower price.

1 out of 5 eggsJust say no

Pros: nice print quality but your buying the ink , printer is free, ink is the killer , then you better hope it works after 3 ink changes. Mine did not.

Cons: bought my 3rd new ink cartridge and it wont clear the replace cartridge message

I will never buy another epson nor would I recommend one.

Other Thoughts: the #69 cartridge is non refillable.
and gives very few copies per ink pack
newegg rocks ....My epson printer is now a doorstop.

5 out of 5 eggsEpson Workforce 30

Pros: plain simple to use printer, liked the dual black ink's and separated color cartridges. Fast printer.

Cons: none yet

Other Thoughts: bought to replace older printer, I wanted a simple printer for small documents and photos to print. When you print it has the usual printer noise's, nothing loud. For the price and usage this is a great product!

1 out of 5 eggsNo power

Pros: For basic printing needs, it will work, for a time. Don't expect amazing print jobs. It prints pretty well though for the most part.

Cons: My printer crapped out after 1 month of usage. It simply won't turn on. I know how to troubleshoot and I can definitively say it's a power system problem. It worked fine for a month, so it's not like I bought it defective to begin with. It simply became defective after 1 month of usage. That doesn't sound like good quality to me.

Other Thoughts: The printer is loud and shakes the desk. The ink sensors also seem to be a little off, as they read low way too fast. Is this on purpose so people buy more ink? The ink cartridges are cheap, but if you're printing pictures and photos, who runs out of just one color at a time? When you have to buy 3 color cartridges at once, it gets to be as much, if not more than a regular color cartridge. Essentially, you don't SAVE anything, you actually could be spending more on ink.

Of course if you just use blue ink over and over again, it could save you some money.

1 out of 5 eggsWorst printer ever!

Pros: Having used this printer for a little over a month I have nothing good to say.

Cons: The first printer was dead out of the box. Epson sent me a second one and wants me to recycle the original. It needs head realignment on a regular basis. I am also recharging the inks daily. It is so loud and shakes so much I can't use it on my desk or talk on the phone if the printer is near.

Other Thoughts: This is my first disposable printer from Epson. The inks are as much as the printer and the printer is so poorly made that Epson told me to recycle the first one. Before I got the replacement I was pleased that I would have a second set of inks for free but I have used more ink for realigning the heads and charging the ink cartridges than printing.

4 out of 5 eggsPrints good - noisy

Pros: Prints text and pictures good for the price. Cheap third party ink. Installed locally and on my network with no hiccups.

Cons: Noisy. Quiet mode makes it better, but slower.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I purchased this as a replacement for my older worn out Epson C88 that finally died. After careful internet research and shopping I got another Epson despite misgivings. I was pleasantly surprised at the cost ( around 80 bucks at large electronic store near me) but cheaper if ya shop on line.

The ease of set up was great- simply follow instructions and you will not go wrong. When finished with software installation plug in your USB cable from the old one, then download the latest driver from the mfgr. website, install it and you are ready to go.

The feature I loved was the seamless transfer of all my Epson printer settings from the old C88 that were laboriously made by me previously. One I discovered was a setting for QUIET mode when printing. Nice touch when I wanna print early in the morn when people are sleeping or late at night.

The quality is way above my expectations even with mundane and cheeper house brand media. It ALL looks great even for a novice like me.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this printer to anyone who needs an inexpensive and easy to use ink jet at home or even at an office. The ink cartridges are a bit pricey but if you buy them on line they are a bit cheaper. I must use OEM ones now for the time being. I used non OEM ones in my C88 for two years and never had a problem. Epson will scream about voiding the warranty, if he printer is only 80 bucks and four ink tanks cost 75, then if it won't work because of that simply get another printer. I saved TONS of money for two years using cheaper compatible cartridges ( no I didn't use any refilled ones as I have had bad experiences with them so I just shy away from them)
