Epson has been making printers for decades, and we keep buying them, so they must be doing something right. This latest offering proves that by offering some of the highest inkjet resolution I've ever seen.
Zipping along at 38 pages per minute in color or black and white at traditional resolutions, it can also take its time and offer you resolutions of up to 5760 x 1440 dpi in both color and black and white. And you thought your photos looked good on your old printer! Nor is this powerhouse power-hungry: while printing, it consumes about sixteen watts, about the equivalent to two old nightlights. Your hard drive probably uses more than that.
The ability to add it to your wired or wireless LAN makes it an excellent work group printer, as well. So: do your homework and decide for yourself. Then buy a quality printer inexpensive enough to do your homework on.
Pros: We use this printer to make paper copies of our digital x-rays in our dental office. With decent photo paper the results are very good.
Cons: Very loud and it seems to vibrate a little too much. I have ordered a printer enclosure (which cost twice as much as the printer) to silence it. I think it would have been better if they added a stiffer frame.
Other Thoughts: Good deal for the money.
If you print a lot of pages it's noise might get on your nerves.

Pros: Very easy to set up wireless. Does a great job of printing. No fax, no card slots, no scanner, no other junk to break. Just print, print, print. Reasonable footprint.
Cons: Noisy. Scares cat, at first.

Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: I don't care too much about print quality, but it seems to print images well. I really enjoy the wireless capability, but I guess wireless printers are becoming more common now anyhow.
Cons: Had a little trouble following the wireless network install. I'm not too keen on the setup utility. It works though, so it's not that big a deal. The print head movement is a little loud, and causes the printer to shake a lot. Definitely a good idea to keep the printer on a solid surface.
Other Thoughts: Something to be aware of when using ink jet printers... I think I left the printer on for too long and dried up the ink. It still registered there was plenty of ink left, but it just wouldn't print right. Tried running the head cleaning and alignment several times with little to no effect. Finally I replaced the ink cartridges, and everything was fine. Lesson learned: turn off the printer when you're done.
All in all, it's a fairly good printer.

64 bit beauty

Pros: Bought this as a replacement for my Hubert Packwad which doesn't support XP Pro 64-bit. Nice looking printer, rapid printing, easy wireless setup. Everything as advertised, good value for money, no complaints.
Cons: None.
Other Thoughts: Nice to see some manufacturers supporting 64-bit. Could not believe HP didn't have drivers to make the old printer work, but hey - if they no longer want my business, EPSON and I will live happily ever after.

A Great Wireless Printer For The Buck
Reviewed By: ThisChick on 9/28/2009
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This printer is awesome, it's fast when it comes to printing up my homework or spreadsheets I need in a jiff. I mean you get more than what you pay for plus its wireless which is a plus. Wireless was very easy to set up if you have problems then I guess it's a personal problem cause it's so easy it's not even funny.
Cons: Just shakes a bit but it doesn't bother me if you are one of those Type A Personality people I wouldn't get it.
Other Thoughts: Wireless
