The 5200DTN holds 850 sheets of paper in 3 trays, so you can stop running to the printer. You'll can print legal, executive, postcard sized paper, and envelopes, without reloading. The 250-sheet output tray keeps your print jobs neatly stacked until you're ready to pick them up. Thanks to the built-in duplexer, you can run hundreds of double-sided copies, and not have to go to the printer until they are all finished! The LaserJet 5200DTN is a powerful solution for workgroups with heavy print demand!
saves us money
Pros: This printer was easy to set up and has been trouble free on our network. We got it because out Xerox color laser cost a fortune to run even when printing black. this costs much less to run. It was easy to set up on our network that includes server 2008, windows XP & Seven as well as MAC. I guess i had to download the latest drivers but that is not any trouble.
Cons: the paper comes out parrallell to the back of the printer so 11x17 prints hang out into the hallway. Previous models came out the other way which we prefered. the output tray is not large enough for 11x17 but requires a little flip out support. if the support is not flipped out, 11x17s go on the floor. One other problem - the pcl6 driver did not work well with 11x17 autocad prints under windows 7, we had to use the pcl5 version.
Other Thoughts: this printer renewed our faith in HP after a bad experience. In over a year of use by 50+ people we have not had any trouble or had to call for service.

Beware HP Customer Service
Pros: Newegg delivery. Ordered Monday evening, arrived Wednesday morning. Packaging great, printer goes together easily, feels solid and looks great. Newegg has always been a superior vendor and if not for HP's poor support this would have been a 5-egg rating.
Cons: HP has got to be kidding with their support. The software CD that comes with the machine does not work on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 or 2008 R2. The HP website only has universal drivers for Win 7. The universal drivers don't operate all printer functions on this machine. Windows update was jammed up and couldn't provide the specific driver. HP support, whether by chat or telephone was a horror. 2 chat agents referred me to the same universal postscript driver on the website, despite the fact that I told them I wanted the specific PCL6 driver for that machine. On the phone, I was shuttled around to three different agents, all who could barely understand English and all who said my machine was handled by another department. I used to trust HP, but they will have to win back my trust now, after witnessing their new customer service.
Other Thoughts: I need to buy a wide format multifunction machine and I had my eye on a $10000 HP model, but I have to re-think that. Before I settle on a suitable product I am going to call the help lines of other companies that have comparable machines to see if they speak and understand english.
