One of the best inkjet AIOs
- Pros: Fast for an inkjet. Photo lab quality photos. Individual color ink cartridges. Fairly low ink consumption (Yellow tends to get eaten up though), and low ink cost. Built in wireless, networking, and auto document feeder. Lots of little nifty features, and can even print out a sheet of notebook paper (Pretty cool). Built in pong game (Look it up :P). Pop up LCD screen for photos.
- Cons: Text isn't that great; hard to read small fonts, though the blacks look good. Ink yield is vastly inferior to HP's Officejet line. Yellow runs out fast. Small paper tray. Photos smear if they get wet.
- Other Thoughts: It's a great little printer for the price, but you can get double the black prints out of HP's L7000 Officejet series for the same price, and triple the color prints. Plus there is a large cartridge available for those machines that can do a whopping 2300 pages for only $35 (The 02 black is rated at 420 pages and costs around $20).
The photo quality is not as good, but behind a piece of glass or photo album it'd be hard to tell the difference. But even with the quality difference, you're looking at around $0.31 per photo for this printer, and somewhere in the range of $0.10 per photo on the Officejet series. Is three times the cost per photo worth it?
Great All-In-One
- Pros: This printer was easy to setup both with USB connection and WiFi. The print quality is great for an All-In-One. I was skeptical of buying another All-In-One after my previous printer (Brother). This one seems to be better designed. I like the fact that the ink cartridges are separate and do not move. The best thing about this printer was that I paid quite a bit less than it cost in the stores and it was here within two days. Thanks Newegg!
- Cons: The only problem that I had was then I tried to use my power strip to surge protect the phone line for the fax. The fax would not operate correctly. Needless to say when I connected the fax line up directly it worked properly. I think this is more my surge protector than the printer, so that is why I didn't hold it against the printer.

Printer works, software is not great
- Pros: The printer works and the wireless is great so there is one less cable to worry about.
- Cons: The HP software is terrible. It will eat up the memory to the point that you have to use task manager to close the program because otherwise the computer will not shutdown. Also I have to restart the computer occasionally because the printer will lose the connection with the computer.
- Other Thoughts: If you don't need to install the software the printer is great.
Great Printer
- Pros: Very fast color printing, and great photo quality! This thing is fast at doing all the basic tasks such as printing, scanning, faxing, and even copying. The wireless printing is great when im being lazy on the couch with my laptop. I dont have to upload my files to a flash drive and then to my desktop i can just print while sitting on the couch!
- Cons: The software kind of sucks, but what do you expect from free software. Also the HPimage center screws up on my laptop that has vista on it, which is annoying because i have to restart my laptop before i can use it to print.
- Other Thoughts: Overall im really satisfied with the quality of this product!
Not impressed
- Pros: Small footprint, fast B&W and decent color printing, decent copies. Cheap.
- Cons: - Printing envelopes is a huge hassle - you have to remove the normal paper supply, then feed the envelopes, then put the paper back
- It only holds a very small amount of paper and it is difficult to load. I am constantly refilling it. - The TWAIN drivers for scanning are very poor, so if you frequently scan to another application like photoshop or acrobat, tough luck. - The built-in USB hub hangs up my bios because it doesnt ID properly, adding about 2 minutes to boot time.
- Other Thoughts: I have been buying from NewEgg for a long time and this is the first product I regret buying. I replaced a well worn d145 with this, and this printer is a step backwards. You get what you pay for folks. This is not meant for a real home office. It would probably do OK for light home use. I dropped the ball by not sending it back before the 30 day return policy so I'll probably give it to my Dad or sell it and get something that can hold up in a real office environment.
