1 out of 5 eggsGreat output while it lasts

Pros: Newegg customer support was perfect handling my issue with this printer as it had to be returned within a month.

Cons: The printer had numerous problems from the get go. The front door assemble is flimsy and doesn't act like it wants to stay shut. After removing the packing protectors, it kept saying some was still attached. Only re-seating all the cartridges and re-starting numerous times would it finally initiate.

The print was perfect, for a week. After that each printout would have a gray hue to it. Being an experienced tech, I have seen this before and after all basic troubleshooting steps failed to resolve the issue, I called Lexmark. Lexmark tech support had no clue how to fix it and basically would dance around the real issue making you try troubleshooting steps that had no relation to the problem. Several other little hiccups would come up as well in addition to the problems listed. Since Lexmark had no idea how to resolve the issue, I returned the printer.

Other Thoughts: Being very familiar with Lexmark (I hold several Lexmark repair certifications), I couldn't pass this deal up. However, based on my professional experience, I cannot recommend this printer as a quality purchase. I'm sure I just got the lemon in the bunch, but the basic design of this model in my opinion is flawed and prone to major problems.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Color Duplexing Printer

Pros: Built-In Duplexing
Built-In Networking
Great color
Fairly quick to print
Good paper feed options

Cons: Powers on and spins up every so often (every hour?)
LCD can be hard to read

Other Thoughts: I have it sitting on a table that is a bit high and it makes the LCD kinda hard to read. Also the status LED shines up at a 45 degree angle instead of directly out. Again this makes it kinda hard to see what the printer is doing from my chair. The power spin up is not too bad, just kinda surprising the first several times happens but you get used to it.

I used to have a Samsung CLP-550n but they don't make it anymore. This is a great replacement.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat for its Market

Pros: Great Color, Easy Setup, Duplexer, Network, Multipurpose Tray. Easy to setup drivers on Mac and PC. Cheap!

Cons: Can be slow to process, spins up every hour or so, Setup document is entirely pictographic, No LCD Backlight

Other Thoughts: Bought this printer to replace a B&W Laser (HP 4050): It's a little louder, but the biggest complaint is every hour or so it sounds like it has a print-job even when it doesn't. Since it's a house printer, it just gets shut off when not in use. Great features, great price and prints images that could pass for photos at 12-18". Would buy again!
