Liven up business documents and more with true 1200 x 1200 dpi color printing by the Lexmark C544n color laser printer. Designed for a workgroup environment, users can print out vibrantly colored documents from their computers through the Ethernet network with the first page ready in as low as 11 seconds. Very affordable, it has a small footprint and low profile, which allows it to fit even when space is at a premium and the low noise level means that it won't disturb.
Professional Pantone calibration ensures consistent color tones and emulations for PCL6 and PostScript ensure that your images will be laser-sharp and text will be clear. The 250-sheet main tray allows you to print on a variety of materials without having to stand over the machine ready to reload the trays during a long print run. The coverage estimator and colorSaver features allow you to control your costs in addition to Lexmark's High Yield and Extra High Yield toner cartridges keeping your printing expenses to a minimum.

Lexmark C544n color laser printer
- Pros: Very good output, sharp text, adequate color printing. Ease of setup. Support staff seem to be interested in product and customer satisfaction.
- Cons: Some question about reliability: After printing about 250 pages, it stopped working, giving error code "107.08". Tech staff at Lexmark were fairly prompt in responding. A repairman came to my house, but I missed the appointment. However, instructions sent to me by e-mail were clear, enabling me to fix it myself. I had to open the back cover and re-insert a cable into the Mobo. This was fairly easy to do, but the question is, why was a repair necessary after so short a time? (Of course, it might have been handled roughly in transit). The machine is not very quiet, but that is a minor problem. I am giving Lexmark the benefit of the doubt, hence 4 stars.
- Other Thoughts: Customers who are still wary about Lexmark quality should probably buy an HP or a Brother, to be psychologically satisfied. I was fully aware of the reputation of Lexmark when I bought this, so I took a risk. However, so far, so good.
Lexmark C544n color printer
- Pros: Very good output, fairly easy setup. I can't give it five stars until I know how well it will hold up. I have owned and run this printer only one day, and I know that these contraptions can die a sudden death. So I am crossing my fingers. Also: noise level is reasonable, not a problem. Installation was easy, and my PC recognized it in about a minute.
- Cons: LOTS of packing & plastic spacers to remove; instructions are based on only a few photos, very little written text. No information on long term care of this printer. Heavy and has has a big footprint, but I don't care as long as it continues to do well.
- Other Thoughts: Actually, I am quite pleased with this machine so far, but I am being cautious. I am aware of less than flattering review of other Lexmark printers, and have owned several over the last few years -- they have not held up well. So why did I buy this one? It seemed a good deal, the specs looked good, and I thought that by now Lexmark might have learned a few lessons.
