2 out of 5 eggsWorks well...some of the time

Pros: 24/7/365 phone support very knowledgeable, friendly. Easy to set up on network.

Cons: Definite issues with toner sensors. It can go from almost full to low within few prints, even with "genuine Oki toners". Then it's a guessing game, in conjunction with pop ups on computer screen every time it prints.

Other Thoughts: If you hold your breath right, it works great. But re-occurring toner sensor issues make this unit unreliable. Bad unit? Maybe. Service/support folks have not resolved this issue yet. We may be looking for alternate printer soon, in less than a year.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid at all costs

Pros: None

Cons: If I could give this negative stars, I would - replaced under warranty after 6 months, and now the replacement has failed. It's still under warranty, so I could get another replacement - but we're going to simply junk it instead. Our first - and definetly last Okidata product

2 out of 5 eggsCrazy Experience

Pros: Shipped product was very well packaged.

Cons: Had to RMA product because the lever to open and reach the cartridges was ajar and could not be opened. (I have a video of this. May post it one day.) Was interesting because the first thing you see on the packaging is "This product was reviewed by a reviewed in the USA". (paraphrased) I laughed at that when I couldn't get it opened.

Going to OKI's site to look for any content about this latch (eg is there a button I can't see? am I missing something?) was cumbersome. I ended up going to YouTube for examples. And sure enough, I was not missing anything. The scanner part of the printer just wouldn't lift up. The "reviewer" should've seen this. I tried to suggest to myself that perhaps it got damaged in the shipping. But that packaging was top notch. I will give OKI credit for that.

Other Thoughts: This is my first experience with the Marketplace and what an unfortunate first experience for it to be an RMA result. The Marketplace experience was a little difficult to endure. But overall ended well. I will post my experience with Beach Audio in their own review. This is NOT a Beach Audio issue.

Word of advice for any Marketplace purchase: the seller has no link to the offered insurance. If you need to RMA a product, you need to contact NewEgg directly to get refunded the insurance part. No biggie. Just FYI.

2 out of 5 eggsCan't scan via USB connection to Mac

Pros: Haven't owned it very long - seems all complements other people have written is probably true.

Cons: It is not possible to scan directly to a Mac using a local USB connection. This means that instead of having it connected directly to my computer, I now have to have our IT set it up on the network and access it that way, even though it is sitting right next to my computer. Very annoying. If it didn't have such great reviews for other features and such a good price given these features, I'd be returning it right now. I probably wouldn't have bought it if I knew this up front, though.

5 out of 5 eggsscanning

Pros: works; I like the print quality

Cons: getting scanning to a folder on my PC took some research. Oki tech support sent me a copy of one of the .pdf files that are near the top of the list of documents brought up by a Google search on 'MC561-Folder.pdf', and that got me going.

Other Thoughts: So far I have not figured out if my router (old Linksys RT31P2 left over from a Vonage subscription) is able to provide the printer with a DNS service that will resolve my work station's name to its IP address. I have therefore switched my PC from a DHCP assigned IP address to a static IP address, not an ideal solution.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Printer

Pros: This printer suits my business well. It is used for scanning receipts and paid invoices directly to my bookkeeper's PC. I use the profiles to handle this task. Each profile stores the access details like Windows(CIFS) login information and the permissions to the folder location on the network. You can even save stuff directly on the web with FTP/HTTP protocols. The physical printer is used to perform most tasks like scanning and copying. Oki Data provides minimal desktop software (which i see as a bonus because who wants to have to open a separate applications to perform tasks??). This printer has Windows, Mac and Linux drivers -- although I've only tested it on Windows 7 and 8 successfully.

The tech 24/7 tech support sold me on this printer. During setup, I called at 11:45pm EST and an American answered the phone. Then a week later a lady who handles quality control followed up to see how the call went (a real human, not an automated survey), which shows the company actually cares about their customer and the experience.

Cons: The documentation could do a better job outlining network setup examples. For my configuration, I had to assign all PCs to their own IP address, and then reference the IP address. This technique was explained by an Oki Data tech.

5 out of 5 eggsWorth every penny

Pros: Prints very fast.
Great quality prints.
Easy to setup and use.
Very reasonable cost per page.
Solidly built.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: When I first set this up and started playing with the lids/trays, I got the initial impression that it felt a little flimsy. But as I played with it more, and worked up the nerve to push/pull/bend the parts (even with some fairly excessive force toward the end), what I found was that the plastic that felt flimsy was actually just the right amount of flexible to handle stresses; it's actually very well engineered. I think you'd have to be pretty ham-fisted (or intentionally trying) to break anything off of this printer.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good printe

Pros: Very easy to set up to print from PC and MacBookPro (see cons). Seems to be very well built, heavy. Prints very fast and color quality was very good from my perspective. I like that the toner cartridges are separate from the rollers.

Cons: Has a Mac workaround, don't have a dedicated driver for Mac OSX 10.8. They are working on this. Would be 5 stars if they had everything together. Has many different drivers, this may be a pro for some trying to do different things. Has a chip in each toner cartridge, although they have refill kits that have the chip in it and can be replaced easily.

5 out of 5 eggsThis a Wonderfuel Product

Pros: This LED printer is the best i did alot of research and i must say that this printer is alot better than most and better than laser printers Remember to purchase the second tray and paper from OKIData directly. I ordered the printer and it came the very next day. I tried to order this printer from TheNerds.net horrible experience they had the printer for cheaper but didn't bill my credit card promptly and never shipped the product

Cons: none
