1 out of 5 eggsAvoid THis one

Pros: Network easy to setup, No paper jams

Cons: We have had this machine in our office for less than a year and it has gone through 3 seperate ink sets and today the fuser just went out. That would be $600 in ink and now a $250 part needs to be replaced. You can not fax, scan or anything until this part is replaced. I replaced my Canon only because this had so many great reviews and we needed a 2nd all in one for the office. Looks like I will save my $250 and just pick up another Canon. What a complete waste of money!!

Other Thoughts: I have had $200 printers from Staples last years. This pile lasts less than 6 months in full use (We are a seasonal office so not really ramped up until March) and cost 3x that. Completely dissatified and going to let eveyone know it

5 out of 5 eggsShe's a beast

Pros: Prints decent quality for basic home office use. I don't print often, and I was tired of buying new ink / using half the cartridge to "self clean the nozzle" every time I needed to print because I didn't use it often enough. I'm not even 3/4 of the way down on toner.

I also love the fact that the toner is all in separate cartridges, so when I go through a certain color faster for whatever reason I can just replace that color.

The web interface is easy to navigate, and useful. Also love the fact that I can hook it up into my network and use it from any PC in my house (I have 5 of them).

Cons: She's pretty big. And heavy. But everything seems to be well-built. Definitely wouldn't put this on anything that isn't sturdy, though, especially if you have small kids.

Also worthy to note, though, that I have a problem printing certain colors. It really doesn't like pinks or oranges. I'm not going for high-quality prints, so that's not a huge deal to me.

Other Thoughts: Bought one of those cheepo end-tables from Wally World for like $15 to put her on and I haven't had a problem yet.

Overall, I'd say this is a great printer. Love the copy tray, too.

3 out of 5 eggsMissing specs.

Pros: The functionality of this printer was what the company was looking for. Duplexing, scan to network and email. Fax to memory. My opinion - Great for home use but not for business.

Cons: What was not found easily was the following: 1. Drum need replaced every 20,000 pages. 2. Belt needs replaced every 60, 000 pages. 3. Uses 3,000 page cartridges, not the 5,000 page cartridges the MC561 uses.

Other Thoughts: When I was looking for a printer for a company the duty cycle on this printer was 70,000 pages. The duty cycle specs have been lowered to 45,000 pages. ***Duty cycle (replacement) of drums, belts, and cartridges should be listed in the "Specifications" section.***

2 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer but Poor Scanner

Pros: The printer is absolutely fantastic. It prints fast and has an excellent image and the duplex printing was very efficient. The power save function is extremely efficient and wakes up within just a few seconds. Overall, the printer is surprisingly quite as well.

Cons: 1.) Driver setup was a real pain for Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. I followed the instructions exactly, but the install was waiting for a screen that never popped up from windows ("New Hardware Found" screen). My computer recognized it's existence, but the installer never did. To correctly get the unit to install, keep the installation wizard open and go into your 'Devices and Printers' to find the new unit . It may be installed as a 'USB Device' or show up as the actual OKI printer. Right click and select Troubleshoot. Let windows check everything and close out when prompted. The OKI Installer will now continue on with the installation.

2.) The duplex scanning is absolutely terrible. I tried to scan a set of documents and it would never get past the 2nd or 3rd sheet before jamming. I tried several different paper weights and reduced the number of pages to scan down to 5 and still had no luck.

Other Thoughts: If you need a duplex printer, this is an amazing unit. The single side autofeed for the scanner also works very well with no jams whatsoever. Do not purchase this unity if you require duplex scanning - it just wont work.

The toner can be very expensive, although I have not owned the unit long enough to require a refill. Refilling the cartrigaes seems VERY simple and easy to do (check out youtube for instructions) and costs as little as $45.00 to refill your three color cartridges. I was going to just purchase the black toner on its own because it does look much more difficult to refill however.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat with few reservations

Pros: The warm up time is reasonable, once ready it will crank out consistent quality prints with very good speed. I have not checked specific print speed against claimed performance but I have been very satisfied with the performance.
We print about 500+ at a time about once+ a month and a dozen sheets a day between.

Cons: A couple things come to mind. One, in that segment perhaps once a day we get an error which shows up during the power save mode requiring us to shut down and repower. (code 72 I think) This is sort of frustrating where this should not be an issue and it requires only about 45 sec. It have not called tech support on this yet but plan to.
I do not care for the nearly glossy sheen of the print. It would be very nice if they had available of matte sheen toner option.
The setup to utilize all the network, fax, scan options is a pain in the neck but for an experienced network admin guy it should not tick you off too badly..

Other Thoughts: Supplies Costs:
color toner 146/ea, black toner 98/ea, 5% CPP black 2.9c, full color 18.3c
Plus distributed cost of belt, fuser, & image drum

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Color - Laser Multi-Function Printer

Pros: Very powerful feature set, quiet, very good performance, excellent power saving features. Fast printing for both B/W and color. So far, very pleased with toner rate of consumption. Oki support was above average, friendly, able to help and even a follow-up from them days after my question to see if I needed anything else.

Cons: Very powerful feature set might frustrate some owners. Documentation is complete, but I could see it as being confusing for some non-IT folks. However, follow the documentation provided.

Other Thoughts: Consumables (toner) appear to be expensive -- however, at the rate they are being used, they are reasonably priced. I am using this for a home office, with multiple users (kids and wife) all printing over our wireless network (note, the Oki is on the network via *wired* connection; only way to connect to network).

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Small Business Solution

Pros: Awesome color matching right out of the box, manual power-save feature is great, setup was a breeze! Plus, built in duplexing!

Cons: Currently priced a bit high, but still competitive with Brother units. No wireless on this model.

Other Thoughts: Other than wireless, this printer lacks nothing. Factor in the duplexing output, and it beats the competition in value handily. Ignore reviews from other sources that criticize the graphic output of this unit. It is as good as any 1200dpi unit I have used, and that is a lot of units!
