2 out of 5 eggsWatch out

Pros: Can print any denomination of postage with Paypal MultiOrder Shipping.

Cons: New policy as of 6/1 requires you to buy THEIR labels which have a serial number on them for DYMO Printable Postage, so existing stock of third party labels becomes worthless, and their labels are MUCH more expensive. Sounds like a class action lawsuit for anti-competitive behavior just waiting to happen.

1 out of 5 eggsBeware

Pros: Printer works great!

Cons: Dymo is now requiring an Activation Code (which is only found on their highly overpriced labels) despite making a fortune on machines and advertising free software with no mention of buying only DYMO labels).

Other Thoughts: Dymo\Endicia has recently announced a new anti-competitive policy whereby they are going to require their own branded postage labels at about 9x the cost of other vendors. Therefore, be aware prior to buying this printer that you will be paying up to 17% more per letter mailed when using this printer for self-postage. For those that do not care about postage, the printer is otherwise a decent model but product support does lack in terms of quality and timeliness.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat ! for paypal and fleebay labels

Pros: Prints Paypal (using multi shipping tool) usps and fleebay labels with destination address, return address + barcode for tracking using 2 5/16" x 7 1/2" labels, will print stamps ( but limited using endicia ) but will print first class postage and prepaid priority box labes, will also print address labels, return labels, file folder labels depending on the type or labels you put in it

Cons: If you are not using this with fleebay or paypal you can only print postage for first class envelopes and packages weighing less than 1 pound and for packages using flat rate envelopes and boxes, the rest you cant. you can sign up with a monthly fee to print label for other types of packages.

Other Thoughts: If you are going though paypal or fleebay this will print everything, I had a hard time researching what this printer can exactly do, so I hope this helps. its a great printer and prints fast, and perfect for my needs.
I always keep half sheet self adhesive labels in case I need to ship ups which is very rare and just print using my regular inkjet printer.
97 percent of what I ship goes through fleebay/paypal using USPS this will print all of that.

5 out of 5 eggsfast and fantastic

Pros: It's very fast, hasn't jammed yet, and always prints perfectly aligned labels with crisp letter edges. The printer goes from software sending data to label coming out in under a 1 second so it has a nice chip and buffer inside it. The price was fantastic too.

Cons: The software is a hair quirky, especially the installation, but I've seen A LOT worse from other products. Once it's running, it's straightforward and pretty easy though.

There was a slight misfeed on the original label loading but pulling the power made it stop saying there was a jam when there wasn't.

When you rip the tags off downward, your fingers are like a quarter inch from the "feed one more label" button and it's not particularly easy to rewind it if you nick it.

Other Thoughts: This is 1/3 the cost of a decent Zebra direct thermal resin ribbon printer with a lot less maintenance, supply costs, and problems. The tags have a lot less useable life outdoors or in sunlight or unusual humidity levels but whatever.

3 out of 5 eggsWin 7 64 bit users beware!!!

Pros: Prints fast.

Cons: Would not install the SW on my Win 7 64 bit PC, but would on a Win 7 32 bit system. There are minor variations in the list of supported labels. The first label I selected was close, but not exact and the address on the shipping label was printed in the wrong direction. When I selected another label in the list, it printed correctly.

Other Thoughts: I replaced an old CoStar printer that used a com port instead of USB. It was the olny reason I kept my old XP computer. Seems that Win 7 has been out long enough for the SW to catch up. Win 8 is just around the corner.

5 out of 5 eggsNice printer

Pros: Great label printer. Fast, precise, and easy to use software to create labels. I use it to make barcodes, and it's really easy. Just type your text and it converts it to the barcode. Very pleased, would recommend!

Cons: None that I have seen.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Label Printer...BUT...

Pros: The label maker itself works as its supposed to. When it is working it is fast, quiet, efficient, etc....

Cons: The software constantly has to be reloaded for some reason. I have this labelmaker hooked up to a little network in my office for the 5/6 users to print labels to it and every other week the standard size adress lables just disappear off of the program until we remove it and reload it again.

Other Thoughts: I don't have the knowledge to figure out what the problem is exactly but it is quite annoying. Numerous conversations with them over the phone and they always act like they know how to fix it but then it just happens all over again.

5 out of 5 eggsBest label printer I've used

Pros: We currently have 6 of these label printers in use throughout our offices. Every 5 to 10 minutes (12 hour days) 4 individual labels are printed. There are very few jams and the graphics and bar codes always print clear. The estimated life of these printers (3 years/460,000 prints) is pretty accurate. So far only 2 printers needed to be replaced because they wouldn't print anymore.

Cons: For our uses (printing labels only) there are no cons. As was mentioned in another review, the wiring can be a little cumbersome, but it's really not that big of a deal. I cannot comment about the software that comes with the printer as we don't use it.

Other Thoughts: We have lost quite a few printers over the years due to user error. While I'm not quite sure what exactly went wrong, as users generally don't admit anything and claim it "just happened", but I suspect they force printing or feeding when a label is jammed. This causes the label to peel off the backing and get stuck around the roller in the front. At that point it can require completely dissembling the printer to fix the jam. Its been so bad at times that we've just had to replace the printer.

3 out of 5 eggsDYMO Stamps Software is limited

Pros: Prints pretty fast. Easy to setup and install. I WAS fairly excited to get this and stay out of the Post office every couple of days.

Cons: The printer comes with a software CD that only contains a label printing application, then leads you to a download page to get the software to print stamps. That's two seperate applications to get the desired results. Once the DYMO Stamps software is downloaded and installed (doesn't take long at all, few seconds) you realize that not only can you not create postage for any package in First Class mail under 13oz (yes the post office allows any weight in first class parcel) but you can ONLY chose from Flat Rate postage in Priority Mail. I save an easy $2-$3 per package by using my own boxes (I have TONS of packaging from Newegg that work great for shipping to customers on auction sites). This makes this little printer useless to me, and I'll return it because of that. I do not want to print PayPal and other labels from the internet, but I guess I'll have to if i want to avoid trips to the post office.

Other Thoughts: Why the software is limited to Flat Rate postage is beyond me. I could have maybe lived with it if the First-Class postage would allow for over 13oz weight. Also, there is no place to key in a custom weight value... it's all prefilled or you must use a USB scale ($75 more!) to get a custom value. Again, I might have chosen to purchase this scale if priority mail wasn't stuck at flat rate. Maybe DYMO and Endicia.com don't want to do the extra work to get us what we want... that's probably why these printers (in any other of the LabelWriter line) has only 3-4 reviews each. It's going back. Sorry DYMO. That's a big oversight on your part, and you should probably get this a little more CUSTOMIZABLE because custom postage is what we want. I can buy a roll of stamps if i want a $.44 stamp. When postage increases, I just use a couple of smaller stamps to compensate. I didn't buy this to avoid USPS postage increases... I bought this to print postage outside of the post office amd save on ink.
