4 out of 5 eggsPretty good printer *First Impressions*

Pros: Color MFC, duplexing, networking at reasonable cost. Good enough color quality for our tri-fold brochures, letterhead when we don't want to send out to the printer.
Consumables no more than any other comparable (esp. if you can find/use generic)

Cons: A bit slow to warm up--I haven't done enought printing to comment on the print speed for mutliple pages/copies.
Hum from fan when on standby (just enough to be annoying)--change the power save delay to 5 minutes to get it to become silent more quickly. Totally silent in power save as far as I can tell.

Other Thoughts: I own other samsung products, including two printers, one a duplexing monochrome laser, that have always worked well. This printer is about what I expected--good enough color copies (not quite as good as our inkjet photo printer), good enough speed. Read reviews on other sites for more info.

1 out of 5 eggsRead the other reveiws!

Pros: NEWEGG!! Newegg was great taking this printer back.
Its CHEAP!!

Cons: Print quality was not up to my standards. It was slow to warm up. Slow to print was not 21 pages a min thats forsure. ITS HUGE and heavy.

Other Thoughts: I read the other reviews and still bought it I was stupid for that. Dont make the same mistake. I love Samsung products have a color laser and a tv from them GREAT products. This one just bites the dust though. I will buy Samsung agian still just not this printer.

1 out of 5 eggsUpdating previous review.. TERRIBLE Technical support

Pros: Good print quality, When it works..

Cons: Still havent gotten the printer to print yellow.. Sent me the wrong toner cartridge, then the right one, then a transfer belt.. then some line about changing their service provider so they cant send me a replacement printer.. Finally got them to agree to send a replacement printer, its been over two months, and I still dont have the repl printer.. STAY AWAY.. Samsung, are you listening????

Other Thoughts: Stay away... Never purchasing another samsung product as long as I live... All the time I`ve wasted on the phone, lost sales because of dealing with this instead of new business.. Get it together Samsung, or you`ll be somebody`s next acquisition...

3 out of 5 eggsPaper Transfer Belt Died

Pros: Prints quickly, pretty good cost per page.

Cons: Paper belt died pretty quick. Long warm-up time.

Customer support was actually pretty good, once I got to the right place.

Other Thoughts: It's a good multifunction for the price. If you want something really nice, you'll have to pay for it.

3 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer When It Works, TERRIBLE SUPPORT.

Pros: Cost per print very low, Great text and color print quality.. Respectable speed. Service Techs speak English.

Cons: Printer is great when it works... Customer support is slow, redundant and next to worthless. One month into ownership the unit stopped printing yellow with 67% yellow toner left. After 2 hours on the phone, going thru their various levels of tech support, and often getting the same tech when switching from level 1 to level two tech support with a 10 minute hold between each, tech support finally confirms what I already know, the unit is not printing yellow for some reason. They place a $100 hold on my credit card, and ship me the WRONG replacement toner in 5 business days via UPS ground . After another hour on the phone, they finally charge me another $100 hold on my credit card, and ship me another replacement toner in 5 business days. This time it’s the right one, but still no yellow. … To put the icing on the cake, I get some story about if I would have called a day sooner the second time around, I would have been shipped an ENTIRE replacement printer but their advanced repl

Other Thoughts: Great printer when it works… If it doesn’t, expect a massive waste of time and money, along with downtime waiting for them to ship you the next part that might fix the problem and figure out what to do next.

1 out of 5 eggsBuy at your own risk!

Pros: All in one and has a fax, plus color. Reasonable price. Plenty of printer for my mostly 'on the road' sales staff of 3 salesmen for making copies and faxing.

Cons: Awful support! Pretty much a throw away printer when issues do come up. I've called Samsung at least 10 times on this printer. Also black text in a pdf report comes out using blended color and is extremely poor quality and almost impossible to read. A home user might not be so affected by that but we print very detailed financial reports through an ERP with fixed font sizes. The sales staff make copies of the reports. and they have cursed this feature the entire 11 months we've had it.

Other Thoughts: At first I was impressed with Samsung's support when the issue first came up. They sent someone here with a new drive belt and they installed it. Within 2 weeks, gears began to grind. I have spent 3 weeks getting a new part for it; something they claim to send out in 5 days. I tried trading it in for a new Oce' but they don't want it even if it did work. It's inching towards the dumpster unless this issue is fixed. It's only 11 months old so that's a shame. Being that it is in a small office setting, there's no way it can be out of service for 3-4 weeks. I've brought one thing away from this purchase, albeit a very expensive lesson. Avoid Samsung products...

4 out of 5 eggsA few flaws, but overall it's awesome

Pros: - Setup was simple. Everything works great in both XP and on my Mac Pro.
- Very nice and well organized display.
- I think it's more aesthetically pleasing than comparable models by HP, Xerox, and Dell. I know, kinda lame, but I work in a design studio so this is something I consider :)

Cons: - Print quality isn't the best. Text looks a fuzzier than the Xerox Phaser it replaced.
- As another reviewer mentioned, warmup and time to first print takes a looong time. It's at least 30 seconds.
- The printer is very loud when printing, especially since it's sitting several feet away from me. Sounds like I'm sitting on an airplane runway, although when it's not printing it's dead silent.

Other Thoughts: - The thing is massive, the box weighs over 100lbs. Make sure you have a sturdy place to put this thing. (This isn't really a con or pro, just an observation).

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Multifunction Color Laser

Pros: Great price, considering what you get. Excellent black-n-white printing. Better than average color output. Built-in duplex printing makes multi-page manual and web page printing easy. Support for 100Mbit network, makes printing fast, even from many machines. And also support for Linux. You should be aware that Newegg sells the high capacity refills for this printer (model #'s ending in B) and not the small capacity ones (model #'s ending in A) - which is why the refills are a bit more expensive here.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Printed about 3000 black-n-white, and about 400 standard-color, and some 100 full-color photo pages thus far without a single issue. Network printing (from several computers) and printing an 800+ page double-sided manual has all worked great. The full color photo output is not as good as a high-quality (photo) ink jet printer, but for printing color web pages it is more than good enough. Warm up times have always been under 30 seconds - even after sitting all night. Prices for consumables are MUCH less (per page) than you would pay for ink jet. The high capacity refills are a much better deal - 30% higher cost, but 100% more toner. Best of all, the toner won't dry up or leak out like my last ink jet.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice

Pros: Theres nothing I dont like about this Product.
I think its going to be great for my business.
Install was smooth as silk.Color is very nice
on the high resolution and good on standard
resolution. The embeded server is nice and the built
in duplex works great. Software is simple in my opinion.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This machine appears to be built solid. So far I have
run 2,315 copies through the fax and 100 through
the ADF/duplex scan.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Many Features!

Cons: My company bought this machine so that we could have an all-in-one machine. This is by far the worst machine that I have ever used. It prints slowly, so good luck if you are in a hurry, the machine takes forever to warm-up, and the built-in network card is constantly getting jammed. On top of all of this, the toner is outrageously priced.

Other Thoughts: Samsung makes real good TV’s, maybe they should only focus on that. If you want a good dependable all-in-one machine, spend of few extra bucks and buy either a real good HP or a Brother, you will save more money buying a more expensive machine than this Samsung and a therapist. You will go "Office Space" on this machine.
