1 out of 5 eggsNot recommended

Pros: Fairly compact.

Cons: Driver (WinXP) has almost continuous annoying large popups.
Initial cartridge only lasted a few hundred pages.
After 4 months it started giving a fuser error and has now got to the point where I cannot start a print job without it failing, power cycling the printer and trying again.

Other Thoughts: This is in complete contrast to a Samsung ML-1740 which I've now had for over 3 years and has been totally reliable.
I'm now going to attempt the support process with Samsung.

2 out of 5 eggsWorld's most useless wireless printer

Pros: If you keep the installation CD, it'll work as expected (wirelessly). If you use it as a wired printer, it'll work but what's the point?

Cons: If the power goes, your printer may/may not function correctly. Trying to fix it is the worst experience ever. If you use the wireless feature, don't ever lose the CD. Once your printer goes fub4r (which it will), in order to get wireless functionality you have to have the CD that came with. There IS NO DOWNLOAD OR SOFTWARE THAT CAN INSTALL THE WIRELESS FEATURE - ONLY THE CD CAN DO THIS.

Other Thoughts: Don't buy this printer. It's not worth it. Samsung's website is awful; their software is even worse. I'll never buy another Samsung printer ever again. Period. Nice work. An international multi-million/billion dollar company can't make a download for a CD available. Fantastic.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Printer

Pros: This is hands down the best printer I've ever owned. The print quality is fantastic and the speed is as fast as I could ever need. You can connect to it via USB, Ethernet, or WiFi, and the firmware and software that comes with it lets you tinker to your hearts content. I've had it for over a year and I'm still on the starter toner cartridge.

Cons: None

Cons: on the left side you do see a small imperfection in the print job but over all you cant even see it unless you are looking for it

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great for home office

Pros: Seems to work great for home office use. Was able to install only driver, not printer software with no problems.

Cons: Its really minor but manual feed is not a tray but a slot.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Printer

Pros: Great printer, does what it is supposed too. Relatively easy setup, depending on how you want to set it up... Plug in and it is ready to print.

Cons: I haven't researched it yet, but replacing toner won't be as exciting as buying the printer.

Other Thoughts: I am using Ubuntu and win7, both of which would print immediately after plugging in the printer via USB. I decided I wanted to use the wireless feature (reason why I bought this) so I started to install/run setup via win7. At first everything was fine, used the CD to setup the printer via win7 which allowed wireless printing from both Ubuntu and win7. I then tried to setup the printer in ad-hoc mode, meaning the comps would talk directly to the printer instead of through a computer. I found several problems trying to do this through windows and the CD, and fell back on connecting the printer via Ethernet cable to the lan, then accessing the printer through its IP address (obtained by holding down the red triangle inside the circle for 5 seconds) and setting up the WPA pass-code for the wireless and other features. All in all, its a good printer and I have not run into any issues regarding wireless connectivity. Hope this helps.

4 out of 5 eggsSolid Product, Network Setup Frustrating

Pros: Decent, business-quality output. Works well with a PC running Windows and Ubuntu Linux.

Cons: Setting up wireless printing - network setup & configuration in general - is a pain if you're not already familiar with setting up devices on a home network.

No luck getting it to play with my antique Macintosh iBook.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace yet another dead inkjet. Once I got through setting it up on my home network, it behaved okay. Getting there was a pain, though.

I don't think my network is particularly comlex - I have this printer, a Windows/Ubuntu PC, Mac iBook, iPad, and streaming Netflix on a Blu-Ray player. The problem seemed to be that the Network couldn't locate the printer if the printer had been asleep or shut down. It took some fiddling with settings, but I managed to get it working.

Overall, though, I'm very satisfied with this printer.

5 out of 5 eggsGood printer

Pros: speed of printing is very good.
Very noise level is low.
Print quality is satisfactory. Meets my expectation.

Cons: Wireless setup can be a little challenging for those wo do not have the necessary info about their network configuration. The ggod thing is that it has USB and wired connection

Other Thoughts: Really happy with printer. I am a big fan of Samsung, and glad that I am disappointed. All my computers and laptops successfully printer. I was also able to print from my HTC phone after installing the free Samsung print app.
Newegg is awesome. Even when the first shipment got lost in transit, they quickly sent me another one.

5 out of 5 eggsNice little printer

Pros: Nice dark printing. I got this for school and stuff but I was very selective because I also use it for toner transfer for making my own printed circuit boards. This printer works perfectly for that. Wireless it sortof cool but that not why I got it.

Cons: Wireless can be weird some times. I mainly had problems when I changed routers, I couldn't get it work consistently until I uninstalled all the software from my computer and then reinstalled new.

Oh also for wireless you kinda need the software BUT it's not very bloated so that's not a huge issue, I know most people reading this probably don't like using device software beyond drivers.

Other Thoughts: For wireless you kinda need the software BUT it's not very bloated so that's not a huge issue. I know most people reading this probably don't like using device software beyond drivers., but it's really minimal, no useless stuff.

It's also a little bit bulky BUT it has a for reals paper tray so it couldn't be any smaller. There are smaller printers around but with the paper shoved in the front they take up the same amount of room.
