5 out of 5 eggsNice!

Pros: Very quiet and fast document scanning. High quality printing. Easy to operate. Good quality fax. Internal web server for easy configuration from any PC or Mac. Compatible with Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 and X for document scanning.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Initially I had some difficulty getting the document scanning to work properly via USB or Ethernet. I later realized that the problem was something corrupted in the C:\Users\{user} folder. I renamed that folder and created a new one, then the printer/scanner/fax works fine. The repair was painful as I need to create all new program defaults and reinstall some apps. It was worth it.

3 out of 5 eggsNeeds Work

Pros: Quality prints, decent speed, lots of features and good value for the price.

Cons: Wireless setup is a constant headache, disappears from network when it enters standby. Has to be completely reset to reconnect.

Other Thoughts: The wireless implementation on this printer is a disaster. I had to trash an older router because the printer wouldn't connect with encryption. Enter new Linksys router, unit will connect but drops off EVERY time it enters standby. I am an IT professional who sets up networks for a living so I know the ins and outs. I prefer to set my equipment up manually instead of using the WPS garbage. The tools are there, and it lets you set it up to use DHCP, but something in the power-save or standby mode is mucking things up. It'll work fine until it enters standby.

I'm going to try assigning it a static IP as others here have suggested and see what happens. If not, the wireless router sits beside it so I can use an ethernet cable if all else fails. Still frustrated, because my CLP-325W (same printer without scanner + fax) works fine using wireless and DHCP.

2 out of 5 eggsSamsung loses

Pros: Quiet, decent print quality, easy to access toner.

Cons: Dumb LCD interface. Driver system not well thought out either. Using Universal Driver instead.

Other Thoughts: I bought this in Oct-11 and it came with a nice little ding in the rear near the power supply. It looked superficial, and did make opening the rear door a little cumbersome. Looking back, I should have sent it right back. But, as most of us know… a new toy can mean reason goes out the window. Now, I can report that after 30 minutes on the phone with Samsung, I get to buy a big box and ship it back to them for repairs and wait patiently again. Apparently, this delicate flower of a printer doesn’t handle power failures at all. After a recent outage, mine lost its WiFi radio. I can now add Samsung to the growing list of companies that make unreliable, disposable printers.

5 out of 5 eggsNice printer

Pros: Always works good and gets the job done. I've used this for over a year now and still have a lot of toner left.

Cons: The toner cartridges are 30 to 40 dollars a piece and there's five of them. Once they run out I should just buy a new printer. I've had many problems with the drivers for this printer that came on a disk in the box so I now just use the samsung universal print driver.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Update To First Review - A day later...
I have to drop one egg for the wireless issue listed below.
As I said in my first review, a decent printer for the price.

Cons: Loses the wireless connection. This is not acceptable as far as I'm concerned, because it's one of the top reasons that I bought this thing.
So if you add up the extreme power spike during warm up, the slowness while waiting for the first page to print, the unbearable stink of the burning toner smell, and now the wireless connection dropping; it's a deal breaker for me...

Other Thoughts: I literally had my Canon printer hooked to my wireless router for two years without a single problem, but no go for this Sam-Suck printer, it won't even stay connected for a day!

4 out of 5 eggsNice For Da' Price!

Pros: Easy Installation, Connected to my D-Link Router with no issues,
and it has decent print quality for a cheap color laser.

Cons: Draws quite a bit of power when warming up - like 800w plus+++
Smells like burnt ozone! I had a toaster oven that had the same smell when I accidentally melted a plastic tray in it...

Other Thoughts: It's alittle slow coming on line - as far as the warm-up time goes, and it does dim my office lights when it first starts up; but I expected some compromises with a color laser of this price.
NOTE! Do not plug this into a UPS. I plugged it into a Power Strip that I forgot was plugged into my UPS; And..... Instant Overload!
