1 out of 5 eggsDisappointed by Samsung refurbishment

Pros: Nice printer in general. Print quality satisfactory. More reasonably priced toner than the competition. Like the photo ID copy option.

Cons: Very disappointed by the quality of refurbishment. First printer I got produced bad print outs: extra artifacts appeared on the output. Likely the drum was scratched or something like that but in any case definitely it was not refurbished to the original/new sate. The RMA cost me $30 for return shipping. Then the second printer I received prints fine but its black toner is almost empty. Even the first test print the B/W areas were very pale and the lines fading in places and some elements almost not visible. Again very far from the original/new state. Had to buy new black toner cartridge another $55. Yes good price for toner compare to competition but at the end this refurbished printer cost me about the price of a new oner with all the ware and tear of a used one. Hope at least the drum would last reasonable time.

Other Thoughts: I like buying refurbished equipment and own boat load of refurbs and was always very satisfied and happy with it. But with this purchase that completely turned around. For that obviously is Samsung to blame. I would think twice next time looking at Samsung refurbs. Kudos to NewEgg though for the painless RMA but still it depleted my wallet by quite heavy price for quite heavy shipment and adding the new toner cartridge makes that no deal at all. Actually it made it more expensive than some sales of that printer NEW. I would expect that the consumables like toner, etc. in the refurbished equipment will be replaced with new ones before offered back for sale and actually experienced that with other refurbishments, but not for Samsung. I was hoping with my light printing needs the new printer will last a year or at least several months before need to buy new toner. Yes, I know even the new printers come with introductory (very small amount of toner just for testing) cartridges but still they could last quite a bit when used lightly but in my case that toner is not enough even for normal test. Really, really disappointed.

3 out of 5 eggsH0LY COW! IT'S A PRINTER!

Pros: It's a color laser printer with a scanner on top. With the exception to the network connectivity, it works. Read below to see my thoughts on WHY the network connectivity doesn't work....

Cons: It says "network compatible" when, in fact, it is not.
There's a port on the outside of the device for network compatibility- but... it would appear that no one is home, because there's_not_actually_a_physical_NIC_card_in_that_port.....

I guess that I'll be doing a return on this, as the product is NOT as advertised.

I really don't want to pay for return shipping for this thing as it weighs a ton.

Other Thoughts: the prints come out nicely, the device has an annoying "bell" tone that chimes away while you click-click away on the smooth buttons... searching for the way to turn off the annoying bell tone.
Scanner also works.

I think that I'd be happy with this if the NIC card was actually installed as it is advertised as "Network Compatible" and clearly is not. (it does not specify wireless-only)
