4 out of 5 eggsSamsung CLX-6260FD

Pros: Fast print. Duplex. Ethernet. Works with Macintosh computers. Power conservation. Toner carts cheaper than HP.

Cons: Duplex offset the print does not match the front side it is offset and cuts the very top of the print off on the page. Does not have line monitoring for faxes as it shares my voice line.

Other Thoughts: I bought when it came out as a replacement for my HP laser. I had a Samsung before the HP and it worked well. I wanted a color laser duplex that works with Mac and this fit the bill. I have this connected USB on my Mac and Ethernet on my Windows 8 PC. I did not even have to load the software to make the PC able to print over the network. The print quality is equal to the HP I had and the pages are not curled like the HP was. The multi-function Samsung software is not as easy to navigate as the HP but ends up getting the job done in the end. I give this printer above average as the bar for average seems to have come down and most low end printers I have purchased are not worth having.

Pros: Great sale price.
Online registration gave me 3 extra months of warranty.
Works excellent so far
Available aftermarket toner (haven't tried yet tho)
Linux support

Cons: Newegg shipped it using the infamous ONTRAC. It arrived a day late and was left in an unsecure place, without even ringing the doorbell to alert us.

Other Thoughts: Newegg refunded my shipping charge, after I argued with a chat specialist. Only 2.99, but I wasn't going to pay for shipping that didn't happen on time. I'm satisfied, and the box was not damaged.

1 out of 5 eggsLook elsewhere

Pros: Features seem good on paper, some of them actually work.

Cons: Terrible printer. The first one had a small plastic piece (the entire printer is made of a weak and malleable plastic) which became deformed and then broke off. This made the top feed unusable. We returned it, as Samsung was trying to charge us to repair the printer (it was brand new!). The replacement printer frequently crashes, and often starts printing timeout errors during large print jobs. Samsung support seems to do nothing other than have me install the latest print drivers even if I did that yesterday, and then reboot various things. It's obvious the printer has firmware issues or another hardware problem. I cannot explain how dissatisfied I am with this piece of technology, and it significantly affects my opinion of Samsung as technology company.

Other Thoughts: Problems started getting worse after 30 days, and now I can't get a refund from Newegg, and Samsung won't repair or replace it, as far as I can tell.

1 out of 5 eggs1 Print then DOA

Pros: None. Unable to get this printer to print via anything other than USB

Cons: After setting this printer up for printing via Ethernet I received "UI Communication error". Device needs to be restarted. No matter how many times it's been restarted the only message you get and can't clear it. The error is not in the manual and Samsung support can only tell me to restart the machine after 3 calls. Not only is this a bad apple but getting support is the worst.

Other Thoughts: If this is the way Samsung stands behind there products, this company will not be around long. I'll try to get a replacement and I'll be back to comment on that.

Manufacturer Response:

I am sincerely sorry for the issues you experienced with your Samsung printer.

Samsung takes great pride in the engineering, build, leading-edge advancements, and overall quality of every single product we manufacture. Unfortunately, as with all products, there is a slight possibility of defect or damage during the packaging/shipping process.

Please contact Samsung Customer Support toll-free at 1-800-726-7864 and allow us the opportunity to remedy your issue.
