Pros: easy set up

Cons: This machine has a software glitch. If you receive a long fax, for example 20 pages and while that fax is printing, another fax rings in, the machine will print the new fax in the middle of the long fax that was in the process of being printed. THEN, it starts printing the long fax all over again. It could be on the next to the last page of a long fax when another rings in and its going to print it all over again! A waste of paper, toner, and drum plus your time to sort out all the extra paper.

Other Thoughts: If you receive a high volume of faxes and many of them multiple pages, do not buy this machine.

Pros: Simple to use menu. Just works.

Cons: Seems to occasionally need unplugged to clear internal memory. Large print jobs can sometimes crash it.

Pros: Solid machine takes fax into memory and sends at leisure. It also does good quality laser printing and copying. We like the unattended copying extra a lot.
To date totally fault free.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Next time we are going to purchase a color fax. And one that does scanning too. Of course you can put in a fax modem and fax yourself to achieve a good quality scan.

Pros: good, functions as expected

Other Thoughts: There is a optional LAN card you can get for this unit to have internet connectivity. NC-8100h

Pros: Receives and send fax messages reliably. Inexpensive toner. Simple to use and setup.

Cons: 250 sheet paper tray. No network connectivity. A little loud.

Other Thoughts: This unit replaced a MFP that was being used in our office as a fax machine. The MFP was unreliable and sending and receiving fax messages, so I replaced it with this. So far, the office users have been really happy with it.

Pros: EASY to set up, user friendly maunal, feature rich

Cons: Bigger than our last one, but not an isse

Other Thoughts: Ordered this to replace an old Brother fax. The reviews listed here are correct - both pro & con - and the negatives are very few! Great price for a feature rich fax machine that is fast and and delivers great copy. AND - we are a small office and are going to get rid of our copier! So easy to set up and program speed dial numbers. From box to set up & recieving faxes was less than 45 minutes. Easy transaction with Newegg!

Pros: Our original one, the 4100 (14.4kbps fax instead of 33.6kbps) lasted nearly 10 years.

Cons: Slow performance for today's standards.
This one lasted not even 30 days before grinding noises from the front left earned it a trip back to the store.

Other Thoughts: After the original one finally had a fuser failure after thousands and thousands of pages faxed and printed, my first thought was to get this model and not worry about the fax for another 10 years. Much to my dismay, this model had the famous Brother gear stripping noises in the front left of the unit. I've seen this problem before with Brother printers, but usually the cheap desktop models (HL-2040, etc). I tried everything I could think of, including filling the paper tray half full, replacing the toner, the drum, both the toner and drum....nothing. The noise got worse until I finally unplugged the beast and returned it, wasting time and money in the process.

We ended up getting the MFC-8480DN and are very pleased; the speed is much faster plus it has a network port.

Pros: We bought this fax a few years back for my business. It's a fax and copies business, so we really put it to hard work. It's been great and I highly recommend it.

Cons: I wish the screen was a color, 10 inch, touch screen, with mp3 built in to it, and a port for my ipod. But, it's only a fax machine jajaja!!!!

Other Thoughts: It's built solid, no flimsy paper trays like the other brands.

Pros: The Brother's Fax 4100E is a work horse. This is the second one I've bought for my business. The first one is over 12 years old and is still holding up great!! I'm very impressed with the durability.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Pros: total fax solution in a small package. Many features and very reliable.

Cons: The paper capacity could be better.

Other Thoughts: The toner is cheap and Brother makes great laser and fax machines. Easy to set-up and use. I would only ask for additional paper capacity.
