Designed to be a great small or home office fax solution, Brother's IntelliFax 2820 is a laser fax machine that can also be used as a printer. The 14.4kbps modem transmits your faxes at speeds as fast as 6 seconds per page. It also comes with a 250 paper tray and 20 sheet automatic document feeder.

Of course all the standard features are included, broadcast fax, group dial and remote retrieval for example. You can also use it as a copier. With 20 one touch dial numbers and 200 other numbers able to be stored in memory there is plenty of room for all the numbers you'd need.

A USB port allows the 2820 to be used as a 15ppm laser printer. There is also the ability to fax documents directly from your PC or Mac saving both time and paper.

Comments: Easy Setup. It is hooked into an Avaya Partner phone system and works great from Day 1. Does not use Ink rolls, uses a laser cartridge which is great too. No complaints yet. As fast a faxes can be.

Pros: Great machine: printer, copier and great fax, that you can fax right from your computer, word document, excel, you do not have to print first and then fax. Highly recommended.

Cons: If you want to install as a printer you need to download the drivers from brother web. No cd with drivers attached. But it took me 2 min to download and install everythin.

Other Thoughts: Works just perfect. Do not waist for separate printer and fax - this machine does it all.

Excellent Laser Fax

Pros: Silent, reliable. Easy setup. Handy copy function. Plays well with answering machines.

Cons: None that I can think of.

Other Thoughts: I have had the predecessor to this Brother laser fax for a number of years. It finally started having connection problems and it was pretty beat up, so I decided to pop for a new one. Back then, I could only afford a refurbished model -- now you can get a new one for under two bills. Outstanding! In my experience, no one makes more reliable laser printers or faxes than Brother, and I expect this unit will live up to expectations.

Pros: Great Machine!!! I use it in a small business and it is a workhorse. I had a Brother fax machine before and it lasted 5 years with heavy use. I've bought other fax machines and they lasted maybe a year. I would by another one.

Pros: Does its job well, sufficient for an office not into heavy duty faxing. Perfect for its price. Assembly is easy.

Cons: Not very high speed, but adequate for its desired uses.
