brother TN330 Toner Cartridge For HL-2140 and HL-2170W Printers

Pros: It fits my HL 2140 printer

Cons: The replacement TN 330 cartridge has black streak marks on the right side of my print outs. I am am certain that the toner is defective since I have tested my old toner cartridge and there are no streak marks. I do not recommend ordering this particular toner cartridge.

Pros: Works right out of the box. I tried the refill toner and turned out to be a disaster, toner was leaking all over the place when I print, tried cleaning the drum and the refill toner without help. I thought it was the drum going bad. I cleaned the drum and the corona wire, got the TN 330 toner and it's now printing like a champ. No spots on the paper anymore. I'm very happy with it cuz it saves me hours of headache trying to figure out what's wrong with the printer.

Cons: Genuine toner is always pricier than refill, but you do get what you pay for. I spent 32 dollars on the TN 330 toner vs. 15 dollars on refill. I ended up throwing away the 15 dollars, so fi you don't want to deal with the headache and mess of refill, get the genuine toner.

Pros: Fits in the printer. Prints normally within a one inch margin.

Cons: Cartridge printed little black triangles on the far right edge of each page about 1 inch apart top to bottom. Confirmed it was a cartridge issue because I put the old one back in as a test. The old one still worked fine.

Pros: Exactly what I needed at a great price.

Pros: Inexpensive toner for an inexpensive printer. I'm in a professional college degree and this is the printer is the best school purchase I have ever made.

Cons: Low output from toner cartridge. HOWEVER, there is a trick. On the cartridge there is a sensor on the right hand side. A small circular opening.. If you put masking tape over it you will get well beyond the MFG listed output for printing. Its a known trick for Brother owners. I easily exceed 1600 pages for the low-output cartridge.

Pros: Way better than inkjet of course. I haven't used alternatives so I'll append later.

Cons: The detector says its low way way way sooner than it should. I recommend brother products to friends because of longevity but this blind-sided me. Easy fix though as others have said put black electric tape over the clear plastic windows on the cartridge so that it appears to have toner still left. I have more than double the pages since doing so and still haven't run out of toner!!!!

Other Thoughts: Shouldn't have to do the trick to keep it printing more. A redesign is necessary.

Pros: It's toner for your printer. It does what it's supposed to do. If you put black tape over the drum's eyelets on the side it will last longer due to the printer's toner-level detection mechanism, although you will not know you're low on toner until it stops printing.

Pros: "genuine" Brother cartridge...cheaper than anywhere else

Cons: must be a recycle/refill - I got a little more than 500 pages from this cartridge and then nothing - wasted money buying this cartridge when I should have spent the extra locally

Other Thoughts: wasted purchase...I had to go by the local "depot" store to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a new cartridge...seems like I should have done that in the first place - probably won't be going after toner from Newegg in the future

Pros: Using the tape trick over the "eye" I was able to get 2150 pages outta this cartridge. Just ordered the Rosewill TN-360 high capacity cartridge. My clients use the Rosewills all the time without issue. It is rated for 2600 pages, so I'm curious how far I can push that cartridge with the tape trick as well. FYI Staples wants $50 for this cartridge...Newegg 32.50 - no shipping & no tax!
