I'll Never Buy A Wired Printer Again!
- Pros: This is a good low volume laser printer. Performs well for text. Cost per page is very good (see below). Prints pictures well, but if you are looking for high quality graphics, you need to look at a higher end model.
The Wi-Fi networking feature is awesome. The driver disk takes the user step-by-step through setting up the printer on a wireless LAN and adding the printer on a PC. It identified my WEP encrypted wireless network without any issues. Using the driver disk, I installed it on XP, Vista, and Windows 7 without issues.
This printer has a small footprint (i.e. it's small in size) and you only have the power cord connected to this printer, which allows you to place this printer practically any place in the house or office that has a power outlet.
1,500 page toner (p/n: TN330) goes for around $33. 2,600 page toner (p/n: TN360) goes for around $36 (best deal). 12,000 page drum goes for around $69. Cost per page using 2,600 page toner cartridge is $0.02!!
- Cons: None.
- Other Thoughts: I bought this printer because it was a low cost, network, laser printer....and its wireless. The wireless feature has worked out great for me. And it's hard to beat the cost per page for the price. I would recommend this printer for anybody looking for a low duty network printer (i.e. up to 2,000 pages per month) and doesn't want to worry about cable management.
- Pros: Excellent printing quality on all media I've tried so far. It does an especially good job on labels. Very fast once printer is warmed up. Super price + rebate on a refurb unit (most refurbs probably get more individual attention than any new unit ever gets). This printer replaced a 15-yr old HP laserjet that was starting to give trouble, and it's almost a night and day difference.

- Other Thoughts: There are some minor indentations on printed sheets caused by the final turn that routes output to the top of the printer. But evidence mostly disappears with a little time. Opening the rear slot and routing printed sheets out that way solves the problem.

Looks like new to me
- Pros: Looks like new. Not too noisy, except when turning it on.
- Cons: Setting up the wireless was confusing. And the lights dim when I turn it on.
- Other Thoughts: UPS required a signature, so I had to drive out to UPS and stand in line for an hour.
Love the printer
- Pros: Great printer and it hooked up quick!
- Cons: Had to change the original IP it was not recognized by my router.. but not that hard to do
- Other Thoughts: Would be nice to be able to run the wireless and wired at the same time but after hooking to hub and then to wireless router no need for printers wireless link any way.. Great service Newegg!
A Solid Choice
- Pros: The other reviews are pretty accurate. The machine has a small footprint, wireless setup is easy enough (instructions are included on a CD and the Brother website also offers help) and in its idle/power save mode, the thing is basically silent. Printing over the network is as quick as most will expect and need. Text thus far has been perfectly readable and clean.
At full price, this is a fair value. With the rebates offered as of this review's writing, it's a steal.
- Cons: Refurbished units vary. The one I received looks and performs like new with no significant cosmetic blemishes, but not everyone will have the same experience.
- Other Thoughts: This unit may ship in its box from Brother, clearly marked with the contents.
Should you accidentally enter the wrong information when giving the unit the info needed to access your network, just do a factory reset. The procedure involves pressing and holding down the blue button before turning the machine off and on again. As mentioned above, the Brother website can help you with this.
