5 out of 5 eggsChanged my life

Pros: I bought this randomly since it was available for less than $10 never thinking I would really use it all that much. Ho.lee.sheizen. I use this thing all the time to label just about everything. At one point, when I first got the machine, I was so label-drunk that I actually put a sticker on my wife identifying her as "wife" much to her chagrin. This little baby has taken my overly ridiculous organization to the level of ludicrous and I thank you, Brother! My wife, on the other hand, might have some choice words for you! }o-)

Cons: Wife does not appreciate it when you label her "wife" just in case "you forget."

5 out of 5 eggsWife Loves it

Pros: quick easy battery powered

Cons: no ac cord included (costs almost as much as the unit)

Other Thoughts: we use rechargable batteries so we aren't worried but an ac option would be nice, side note: she hasn't become more organized she just started labling her mess...

1 out of 5 eggsDied on first label

Pros: Nice size and options.

Cons: All was well until I pressed "Print" for my first label. LCD display went out, and that was it. No label and nothing else.
Followed the troubleshooting "Reset" procedure a few times, but no change. Pulled the batteries and tape cartridge; re-installed; but nothing.

Other Thoughts: Good looking unit with full keyboard; too bad.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: We use one of these at work all the time and I just picked one up on sale for $5.99 for personal use. Makes great labels and very easy to use. Cool framing and design options.

Cons: Cartridge prices aren't friendly at around $13-$17, but they do last and there's a good selection of sizes and colors online. Uses 6 AAA batteries, but you can buy 8-packs at the dollar store so no big deal.

Other Thoughts: Highly recommended!

4 out of 5 eggsPleased

Pros: I'm really pleased with this product. I use a much fancier one at the office but really wanted something simple and portable for home use.

Cons: The cartridges are pretty expensive so I'm glad that I can combine orders with my business and home use and save money on a volume purchase.

Really peeved that it doesn't come with the power adapter and requires 6 AAA batteries to operate. I feel like it could have been designed to use a lesser amount of AA's but that is just me.

Other Thoughts: You can buy the power adapters separately if you like but I suppose that depends on where you use it (on the go etc.)

Just remember that it doesn't come with the batteries so be prepared to buy a package.

I haven't used it long enough to give an accurate description on battery life but I'm hoping that it is decent with the amount of batteries that it takes

4 out of 5 eggsSimply Perfect

Pros: Does what I need it to do. Prints out great labels any size I need, or color. Great to know that I can just switch out ribbon cartridges anytime I want to. No need to finish one color and size, before going to another one. Simple process and design. Batteries last a pretty good amount of time. And if you use it like I do, the power adapter is needed. YES, you can get a power adapter for it. Search for a Brother AD24 Power Adapter ($ 15-20).

Cons: Probably would say it doesn't come with a power adapter. But then again, that is fine, read the other thoughts.

Other Thoughts: The batteries have lasted a couple weeks with alot of daily label printing. Now that I have the power adapter, everything is simply perfect. I see why they didn't package the power adapter with it. Overall cost. For those that will use it only a couple times a week or month, battery cost is OK. For those that would use it like I do, the added $$ for the power adapter is very affordable, and well, needed. This is a great item, and does the job perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsGot it for a steal

Pros: Lots of options i'll never even use. Got it on sale for 15 bucks. Works as advertised.

Cons: Little complicated with the advanced options, and somewhat difficult to tell which ones are selected at any given time.

The 6 batteries is crazy, but it was clearly listed before i bought it, so no surprise.

Other Thoughts: Tape is beyond expensive if you are going to get multiple ones, especially the wider 1 inch kind. Almost cheaper to keep buying the labeler for the free tape.
