3 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: Wireless, easy to load tray, decent software, pretty easy setup.

Cons: Small ink cartridges, frequent self cleaning, and won't print only black if other colors are out.

Other Thoughts: This is a decent printer with decent quality (nothing too bad or too great). Once the ink runs out, if you buy just a black cartridge, don't expect to print in only black because the printer won't let you for some stupid reason.

This printer also becomes annoying after a while with all of its self cleanings that it goes through if you're trying to copy and/or print several things around the same time. I've also learned that it uses a small amount of ink while cleaning.

5 out of 5 eggs"John" is comparing apples to oranges

Pros: Wired or wireless connection
Compact design
Easy setup
Decent picture quality
Colour display panel
Multi sheet scan and fax

Cons: Ink cartridges are on the small side
Doesn't duplex, but not expected to at this price.

Other Thoughts: I bought this exact printer at a popular brick and mortar store a while ago and it hasn't failed me yet. I've used all the functions on it and it performs quite well. The ink cartridges are a tad small but they are really easy to replace and I don't have any issues about it siting idle for a month or so with self cleaning.

Ink cartridges from brother are expensive but from day one i'v been using aftermarket replacement cartridges that cost about $15 for a set of four and I've had no cleaning issues or quality issues.

That said, I don't recommend any ink jet printer to print your prized family portrait, but I do use this for casual photo printing as well. This printer is really good bang for your buck.

5 out of 5 eggsSo far so good...

Pros: Network installation worked without a glitch on XP, Vista and Windows 7.

Cons: Installation is a little harder on Ubuntu (Linux)... but this is of no concern for Windows users !

5 out of 5 eggsWorry Free

Pros: Easy setup. Separate ink cartridges for different colors (money saver). Performs as advertised.

Cons: Black ink seems to run out quickly. I guess the cartridge is a bit small. The paper tray does not slide in and out smoothly and comfortably. This might cause undue friction and damage. There may be some type of tray lubricant that would improve insertion.

4 out of 5 eggsGood for the price- WAY BETTER THAN HP

Pros: Wireless/Wired Eithernet connectivity
Fax/Copy/Scan/Print all in one
Excellent Ink Cartridge Design - 4 seperate colors - Ease of Ink Cartridge Install
Low unit Design for small spaces
Good Paper Feed and tray Design
Much better Ink Design than Any Hewlet Packard on the market!

Cons: Noisy to operate, not good for a professional office
Ethernet and USB wired connecters are in a very unusual place inside lift up case.
Complex Paper tray design/ But works good.
Cheap Black Plastic Trim leaves white finger prints

Other Thoughts: Setup for Windows 7 was an addon
Still Way better than any HP.
Be Smart don't buy HP!

2 out of 5 eggsVery unecomonical, nothing too stunning.

Pros: Decent picture quality, excellent scanner, loaded with features.

Cons: I have the non-wireless version of the same model. It is extremely uneconomical, I left it on and didn't use it for a month while I was gone, it was not used by anyone, but the self cleaning alone brought my 60% cartridges to empty in a one month period. You cannot use any functions if the cartridges are empty, and it uses all colors to produce even black prints. Additionally, the ink is extremely expensive, certainly one of the highest prices for ink you can find (there are higher, but few, and I would bet that cost/yield is higher than every one of them).

I only replaced the ink twice, in a two month period and I don't do much printing (in fact, I refilled the paper only twice, what does that tell you?) I'm done with it, I have no need for it, I bought another printer and am much happier.

Other Thoughts: It's horridly uneconomical, which is why it's a multi-function printer at such a low price. Buyer Beware, it's gonna cost you in the long run. Your better off looking at some of the models HP is offering right now that actually compete with Laser Printers in terms of economy, and if you don't want to fork $200 for a printer, Lexark has some excellent models that, while are also inefficient, certainly aren't nearly as bad as Brother. You'll be dumping 65 bucks a month (more/less depending on where you are), into this printer, it's not worth it.

However, if you must, must get this printer. KEEP IT TURNED OFF, it self cleans CONSTANTLY, and that sucks down the ink!

5 out of 5 eggsGood Value

Pros: This is an excellent all in one printer for the average user. Ink cartridges are seperated so you only replace what is consumed. Convienent, easy set up. Good quality print and photo replication especially when using photopaper. Nice feature is photo preview on the adjustable screen, if you need a quick photo produced and don't feel like running to the photo kiosk at the store.

Cons: Cleaning cycle consumes ink so if this unit sits idle for extended periods have an extra set of cartridges available.

1 out of 5 eggsJUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros: Easy to install wireless

Cons: Everything, Requires 4 different ink cartridges all of which must be full just to print black. Did not recognize any ink cartridges after initial fill ,constantly self cleaning and wasting all the ink. It does not work at all after putting just about 50 pages through it

Other Thoughts: DONY BUY IT!!! you will regret it obviously these reviews on here are stacked. If you really want to know the reputation of this printer look on cnet reviews.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy setup!!

Pros: Very easy wireless setup. Takes up very little space on my desk. Works great! Has all the features I wanted at a very reasonable price.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: I bought one on sale for a friend at work, and wouldn't you know, my old printer gave up a few days later. So I ended up getting a 2nd one for myself. Even though I missed the sale for mine, I couldn't pass it up.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

Pros: Great price, easy setup, paper tray is a nice feature. Prints fast; new prints cartridges are reasonably priced.

Cons: Have to decide on making the printer either wired or wireless. Can't do both.

Other Thoughts: Just seems to be a reliable printer and appears to be built very well.
