Pros: Great quality copies and prints. Fax and scan work fine
Service was without any resistance or blame. They took care of the problem.

Cons: Service: Unlike other brands where the toners have their own self contained drum and other guts, the Brother has separate parts that are costly to repair.
Fortunately we were under warranty, and the service they provided took care of the problem

Other Thoughts: Cost of ownership is an important consideration in purchasing a well priced machine.

Pros: Affordable machine
Affordable toner
Easy to set up
Fast
Good quality

Cons: None yet

Other Thoughts: I bought this machine to replace an older HP C6150 All-in-One. I wish I had bought it sooner! I can now scan 15 page contracts in less than 1 minute - my old HP took at least 10 minutes. Faxing is easy.
Duplexing copying is a breeze and reduces paper cost and waste.
From opening the box to producing first copy took about 1.5 hours which includes setting up network and downloading all updates, which was pretty much automatic.
VERY HAPPY!

Pros: Printer and fax seem to work as advertised.

Cons: Scanning!! Scanner requires "paper port" software to be installed and running on a pc to use the scan to network feature.
I could not get this to work consistently. I kept getting error message check interface cable. Rebooting the pc would resolve this sometimes.
I'm sending this one back and will go with a model that can scan to a network folder without the need of client software.

Other Thoughts: Tech support was terrible. I called 3x's and each time I was treated as if I had zero computer knowledge despite me saying that I work in IT.

Pros: I just purchased this on 8/23/11. So far a great machine. Prints fast, a little loud but we knew that going in. Easy setup for scanning to PC. Makes for a great networking printer.

Cons: 1) The scanning to PDF instead of JPEG was a little tricky but tech support worked with us.
2) My biggest complaint is that we already have "toner low" warnings with all the colors. I knew that HP was notorious for this, but less than a month and I'm already having to purchase $217.00 dollars worth of toner? Seems ridiculous. less 1 egg for this.

Other Thoughts: Attached is my csv file if Brother wants to look at it.

Pros: Speed, Quality, Ergonomics and cost.

Cons: A little loud, Fax distinctive ring setup was a little irritating.

Other Thoughts: I have owned and serviced many All in ones for my clients and I have always had great luck with Brother equipment.
My last MFC 7820n has lasted me 5 years and is still running.
