2) Use the full download from the website and it self extracts to your root directory.To run the self
extracting file, first set the compatibility mode to Vista sp2 and run as admin.
3) The files remain and you can find them here:
C:\HP_CM1312_series_full_solution_v5.0_AM-EMEA\
4) Set the compatibility mode to Vista sp2 and run as admin on the Setup.exe.
5) Run the full install. Works for both usb or network.

Great printer, quirky software instal

Pros: Great output, even on plain paper. It's a good combination of speed, quality, and cost. The scanner does a very nice job, and the software is user friendly once it's properly installed.
Cons: The software install takes a long time, and didn't install first try on 3 different PCs. I have a complicated network, and it must have confused the installer. Quicken couldn't use this printer to print checks.
Other Thoughts: Although I'm a bit disappointed this won't print quicken checks, and the install was time consuming and required troubleshooting, the printer is now working well and produces exceptional output. I'd buy it again.

Pros: - Great output - quality rivals the professional print shop where I work - Easy setup - I had it printing output within 20 minutes of bringing into my apartment - Size - while the printer is definitely large, it's not that bad considering it's a color laser all-in-one
Cons: - Expensive - This is still pretty pricey compared to an ink jet - Photo printing quality - While photos come out looking good enough I think a dedicated ink jet photo printer would be better
Other Thoughts: - It would be nice if I could set the calibration time based on a schedule (right now it's based off of the last time the printer was calibrated)
