3 out of 5 eggsOK personal, poor workgroup

Pros: Small footprint, quality prints, fast for the size/price

Cons: falls over on larger print jobs, gets hot and toner won't stick. if it's left on for a long period of time (2 weeks?) it'll image-shift half the page and make the prints usable, power cycle corrects it. 2 years and 17K pages later, which is FAR below the rated duty cycle, it's complaining of rollers non-specifically.

Other Thoughts: I wouldn't hesitate to get one for personal use, or for small office use for up to 3 people. I have it in an office of 20 and they only do their color prints on it, which isn't a lot (<10K pages a year). it's been nothing but trouble. Get a bigger printer for a workgroup.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Printer

Pros: First lazer printer ever purchased and after much researching I selected the HP CP2025n. Extreamly happy with ease of set up to network and quality of printing. Our Network has 3 computers 2 with 32 bit Vista and 1 with 64 bit Windows 7. I did have to use HP website to get universal drives for Windows 7 but it works just fine.
This printer puts out nice Color prints using brochure paper samples that came with it. Colors are brilliant as well. I have ordered Lazer photo paper and will update on how that works.

Cons: The toner cartridges are bit higher in cost but you can find them at various sites for discount if you watch.

Other Thoughts: Not really a Con but more a warning. Do not use Inkjet HP photo paper in this or any lazer printer as the finish coat on the paper can stick to the hot drum.

5 out of 5 eggsgood color printer

Pros: The output is very sharp, the color reproduction is fine. I think I like this design better than the old 4500 series, because with this model the toners don't move, and fewer moving parts should mean longer life a fewer repairs.

Cons: Not the fastest printer, even with black and white documents, but I'm not complaining!

Other Thoughts: I meant to click on the model with the duplexer, but I accidentally clicked on this one. No matter, the driver supports manual duplexing using the manual feed tray. Besides I only use this to print color documents; I have a monochrome printer I use for black and white documents.

5 out of 5 eggs4 windows 7 users

Pros: for all windows 7 users just go to the link below and run any program you like
Thanks
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: Download Windows XP Mode with Virtual PC
Do I need Windows XP Mode?
Windows 7 has several built-in tools to help with program compatibility and Windows XP programs should be installed directly on Windows 7. Windows XP Mode runs many older Windows XP productivity programs and that are not natively compatible with Windows 7, thus helping realize cost savings and reduce possible operational downtime by extending the life of existing software. Visit the Windows 7 Compatibility Center to find software that works with Windows 7.

Don’t need XP Mode and want VPC only? Download Windows Virtual PC without Windows XP Mode.

1 out of 5 eggsWatch out for the "intro" cartridge

Pros: Great quality of print

Cons: Beware that these printers only come with an "intro" quality of printer. My black toner cartridge lasted less than 1300 pages. When I called HP they said that the printers come with "intro cartridges". I had never heard of such a thing. Beware and be prepared to buy new cartridges soon.

5 out of 5 eggsThis is great!

Pros: Easy to set up. Great print quality!

Cons: Little slow getting started but then goes great.

Other Thoughts: I was encouraged by an ink/toner sales person to spend the little extra to get this printer. I am REALLY glad I did. I love it.

3 out of 5 eggsDON'T BUY FOR WINDOWS 7

Pros: Excellent quality documents and photos.

Cons: DON'T buy this printer if you expect to get any typical printer support/maintenance software from HP for Windows 7--HP SUPPORT repeatedly has promised that its ToolBox software is being developed and will be released "shortly"--but it has failed to do so--so many months after 7 was released. HP refuses to give a firm date for this software which eliminates the need to print out a page to see basic parameters and settings on the printer, Otherwise the quality is excellent for print, graphics, and photos.

Other Thoughts: For Windows 7, trash the driver disks which come with the printer if you use Windows 7 and download a "Universal" driver off the HP website.
Did not buy printer from Newegg as I would normally because of better promo price at another vendor--but did buy replacement HP toner cartridge set from Newegg during an excellent Newegg HP promo--which I hope they repeat!

5 out of 5 eggsLow Cost High Value

Pros: I Use several color printers for mailers. This is the best
low cost printer I have ever used. On second set of cartridges and still get excited using it. The quality is great for my business. The output is equal to a $2000 printer. I was shocked at the printing quality for the price.

Cons: The cost of cartridges is always a con. I use compatible
with great results.

5 out of 5 eggsUPDATE TO PREVIOUS POST: BEWARE WINDOWS 7 BUYERS!

Pros: See comments below

Cons: Full featured software not yet available for WIN7 64 bit.

Other Thoughts: 02/13/2010 Update: Turned power off. Uninstalled the printer. Pulled out the toner tray and pulled each toner catridge out and reseated.

I had ordered an HP e520t a few months back and had hard drive failure errors until I pulled and reconnected all hdd power plugs...everything has rocked since then. Possibly same issue here I thought. It seems that components get jostled around during shipping and need reconnecting/reseating. Always a good idea to pull and reconnect as much as possible when a shipped pc or peripheral is received.

Powered back up and during install I let windows automatically download the drivers for this printer (PCL 6). Did not install the PCL or PS drivers from HP's website. Calibrated via the onboard display menu. Printed first page and the output was as expected. Very nice, crisp, text and graphics. No more blurry colors. Exactly what I was hoping for. I am very pleased.

My thoughts now are that it wasn't so much the drivers, but that the color toner cart

1 out of 5 eggsBEWARE WINDOWS 7 BUYERS!

Pros: NONE

Cons: -No 64 bit drivers available yet fro HP
-Must install universal pcl or ps drivers to work.
-The bundled printer software does not install on Windows 7.
*As a result of the above, images and text slightly blurry, as highest currently available dpi is 600.

Other Thoughts: Be very careful if you're thinking about buying this printer and are running Windows 7. You can throw the included software away and expect to download universal ps or pcl print drivers (generic) from HP's website. This is problematic for soooo many reasons. After 4 hours of "tweaking" various settings and making some improvement, I still come up with fuzzy, blurry, text and graphics. I've talked to HP CS and read just about every printer forum know to man. Forget it. I wouldn't dare attempt to print anything professional with this thing to send to clients. It will collect dust until HP gets its act together and releases the software and drivers meant for this printer.
