Pros: The hp all in one has come a long way. I love the wireless scanning. This was so easy to setup
Cons: Didn't like the first install of the ink, but after I got the part in correctly it was easy to change.
Other Thoughts: HP has made a great product here. I would recommend this printer to anyone.

Pros: Has no obvious weaknesses - fast and excellent prints, quiet, painless wireless hookup, scans and faxes well and intuitively, good build quality. Also has some nice extras like auto-duplex printing. I was very surprised how easy it was to put on my wireless network - whereas my Epson NX510 required me to manually enter my security code through its cumbersome interface, this printer just downloaded all my settings from my PC and away it went.
Cons: Ink cost - but what else is new in inkjet printers? Also, no wireless faxing - but it does do everything else wirelessly. Bloated software that takes forever to install. Some people don't like the lack of a color screen, but I don't miss it - this is a business AIO. Are you really going to be printing a lot of photos direct from memory cards on your office printer?
Other Thoughts: HP likes to tout that you save some ridiculous percentage per page over laser printing when you use this printer - but at fifty bucks for a set of cartridges that only give you 300-400 pages (at *their* estimate!), I'm not sure how they can claim that.
Still, otherwise it's pretty amazing what you can get for the money these days. Years ago you'd want to stay away from all-in-ones because they were jacks of all trades, masters of none, and they cost an arm and a leg. But this thing has exceeded my expectations at all tasks so far - it lacks some features of dedicated units (for example, the scanner obviously has no negative attachment), but I expected that in an office-oriented machine, and the actual quality of everything it does do is really, really good. It also has a nice feel and heft - it doesn't feel like parts might snap off as soon as you touch them like some cheaper all-in-ones.

Sharp little printer, easy setup

Pros: * The 6500 is easy to setup. The entire thing could be done by just about anyone.
* The print speed is nice and quality is clear.
* Embedded web interface makes it even easier to breeze through preferences and optional setup (assuming you have this on the network). There are some cool features on the site as well, such as scanning through that page as oppose to installing the driver.
* The 6500 is quieter than the last HP printer I had which sounded like a boxing match. This one does a little jig as well but I would not say that it is noisy.
* Due to that nature of a thermal inkjet printer, you will get more life out of your cartridges. This comes at a cost however, which is explained below in "cons."
* Scan quality is nice.
* Holds plenty of paper - much more than my last HP.
Cons: * Due to the fact that this is a thermal inkjet printer, it has to do a little jig before printing a job if it is coming out of standby mode. It's kind of annoying if you're trying to get a job out but I suppose any printer would do the same thing. I should also note that jobs printed after this first one go much faster.
* The HP drivers are bulky and come with unnecessary "bulk" software. I installed the "IT Only" driver from HP's website. Everything works great without the bulkware.
* Printer has a larger footprint than I expected when purchasing. Make sure your desk has sufficient space.
* The 6500 has four cartridges. Black, Yellow, Cyan, Magenta. I prefer one cartridge for color and one for black. It's not a big deal --- just try to buy the replacement cartridges in bulk to save money. Some retailers sell three packs, etc.
Other Thoughts: Overall this is a great machine! It looks professional enough for a home office and offers every feature you could want. I don't have any regrets on the purchase. Great machine if you need color and don't want to pay the price for a LaserJet.
