Pros: It is fast in text mode especially in draft mode. Printer is best used in batch mode to print large jobs of medium quality. It is just about as fast as a laser printer in this mode.
Cons: Graphics have bars in them unless you are using best mode. Bars are they even in normal mode. It is pretty fast in draft or normal mode but if you want smooth graphics or photos you have to use best mode which is slow.
Photos need to be in best mode with ink volume cranked up one notch. Ink is not water proof or even finger print proof on glossy paper. I am told but don't know for sure the photosmart printers have more touch resistant inks but I have no personal knowledge of this.
The printer takes a minute or two to start up after sitting overnight. The worst thing is that is sits there after every job and cleans and wipes. Best to print alot at once instead of one and two. You don't want this thing in a quiet are because it won't be quiet anymore. This thing has alot of mechnical overhead for each page it prints. So yeah it prints a text page in a second or two but spends the next minute or so recovering from that and making lots of noise.
Other Thoughts: Cost per page should be low on this printer although I have not had enough history to know that. This is assuming that it does not use ink when it makes all that noise after you print a page.
Printer has a separate print head so eventually it will have to be replaced and most likely cost more than the printer. I have not messed with networking.

Pros: Great printer for the price.
Cons: The printer seems a little clunky at initial startup but after that it's fairly quiet. The included software is not compatible with Windows 7. I just hooked up the usb cable and downloaded a compatible driver. After I disconnected the usb, the printer showed up on my network without any trouble.
Other Thoughts: It would be great if Newegg shipping would cover up the original shipping labels to avoid my shipping fiasco. For that, I dock an egg.

Other Thoughts: I should have recieved this yesterday but it went back to HP insted. Evedently, Newegg shipping can't seem to understand that you have remove the original barcode on the box OR the UPS system sends it back home. This is the SECOND time this has happened. GO FIGURE....
