Good Home Network Printer
Reviewed By: on 1/11/2010
Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This printer is perfect for a home theater network. I can print from my HTPC, laptop, or netbook with out needing to connect anything. Setup was a snap, plugged it into my Linksys Router/Switch and away we went. The individual ink cartridges are VERY nice, expecially for someone who prints very little like myself.
Cons: If I had to come up with a con, I would say the long wake-up time would be a con. It can take a while to go from stanby to printing when it's asleep, but that's really reaching.

A joy to install
Reviewed By: steve on 1/8/2010
Tech Level: high - Ownership: 1 week to 1 month
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: This by far the easiest install of a HP printer I have ever experienced. Plug it into a network with Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) router, it gets an address. Load the CD and watch the easy install. I have 6 computers in my house at any one time. Now one computer does not need to be powered up to support the printer. Windows 7 is supported with drivers from HP's website. Three separate color ink cartridges. Good value at $55 dollars. Powers itself off in standby.
Cons: I not sure why, but it goes through some gyrations after printing. It's very wide for an 8 1/2 inch paper printer. Set of 4 XL ink cartridges are $68 dollars at Costco.
Other Thoughts: The initial print head alignment takes TEN MINUTES, read the install instructions. I'm going to buy workgroup printers from now on, I wish I would have done this a long time ago.
