1 out of 5 eggsNothing but headaches

Pros: All the pros are cancelled by the cons.

Cons: Defective, either in the design or elsewhere. (See comments)

Other Thoughts: We received this printer about 2 weeks ago and have been using it since. It was to replace our old HP 4250 that worked well for many years but finally died. This new HP 3015 has been nothing but trouble. I would say that about every 10th attempt to print results in a Data Received error. Every once in awhile it will print a document and then continue to reprint the same document over and over again until someone notices the problem and powers off the printer. And, that's just the beginning! HP support? No help. I predict this several hundred dollar box will end up in the dumpster within the next few weeks.

1 out of 5 eggsNot worth the Money...

Pros: Nice looking, Good specs on paper

Cons: No way can this printer hold up to 100,000 pages monthly as stated by HP… NO WAY !

If you plan to use this in any setting other than an occasional home printer, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND FRUSTRATION... move on and find another printer.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this printer from NewEgg through our company account. This was purchased for a Law firm secretary that prints all the time. This printer is rated at, and I quote directly from the specs page… “Up to 100,000 pages monthly” which is the EXACT reason this model was chosen.

This printer does not even come close to that rating. Considering how many times this printer JAMS repeatedly in a day, it would be a MAJOR Accomplishment to be able to print even half that number… As long as you are willing and able to sit right by the printer and reset it every few moments to keep the print jobs going.

DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS MODEL… Known jamming issues ! If I could get my money back I would in a minute. Don't make the same mistake I did.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

Pros: Fast & quiet. I have had far more expensive printers in the past and this one by far out performs them.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Printer was easy to set up and operate. Tray 2 conveniently holds a whole ream of paper. Duplex printing saved a lot of paper. Processed and prints quickly. During the time of ownership I can count the number of legitimate jams on one hand. Printer allowed full use of ink cartridges, I've had previous experience with printers that tell you the ink is gone and refuses to print when there's still 1/4 of the cartridge.

Cons: After 10 months of use (small business) the printer began to regularly phantom jam in Tray 2. However, the unit could have been returned under the manufacturer's warranty at this time.

Other Thoughts: After 14 months Tray 2 discontinued to operate. The manufacturer's warranty was void as of 2 months ago. Luckily we had purchased the extended warranty. I filed a claim on Tuesday and shipped the unit in that evening. By Friday Newegg had refunded the purchase price. I've known Newegg to have excellent customer service, I was surprised to find that the extended warranty does as well!

5 out of 5 eggsA GREAT Printer

Pros: Bought this to replace my H/P LaserJet 2200D that I've been using for over ten years! This printer was a sound purchase for a small business at its regular price of $899. It's an even better deal now at $450. Even if you're buying a printer for home use, you'll do better with this than one of those $150 printers.

Cons: It made a high pitched whine every time I tried to print. Called H/P and learned that this unit has built-in surge suppression and does not require power through a UPS to protect it. The APC ES-750 Back-Ups UPS that I connected it to was causing the noise. H/P suggested I plug it directly to the wall outlet and the problem went away.

Other Thoughts: I live on the Florida Space Coast, affectionately known as the lightning capital of the world...! I have an APC XS-1000 UPS, so I plugged the printer into it. NO NOISE. Problem sovled. If this printer holds out as long as its predecessor, I'll be one happy man.

4 out of 5 eggsBlazing Wonder

Pros: Loved the setup and ease. Very fast when printing. Good at large batches and FLIES.

Cons: Problem installing... Had the older 3005dn on Windows XP Pro - the rollers couldn't keep up with the office's demand after several repairs:

Didn't fully remove the older drivers, and even though I used the CD's drivers, it almost single-handedly corrupted my OS. Safe mode wouldn't even boot and many things went worse. Ended up installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64-Bit to just to start from scratch.

Other Thoughts: Support for HP products is a joke. Also had a random error where the machine claimed a paper jam (after a large batch) when there was none. But in the long run, this is a fantastic printer for your typical small office.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Easy to install, requires minimal configuration, holds a whole ream of regular copy paper, duplexes nicely, comes with a full normal toner cartridge.

Cons: None known yet.

Other Thoughts: When I hooked it up to my LAN, I didn't have to give the printer an IP address, as it got one from the local DHCP server, and my Mac knew about it automatically because of Bonjour. So far, the printer has worked flawlessly. I printed an envelope with it once, and it printed properly. I can't speak to the issue the envelope guy, below, had, but I think he was doing something a bit more complex than printing one envelope.

5 out of 5 eggsSatisfied Customer

Pros: - Paper Tray Fits Entire Ream :)
- Processes Documents & Prints Quickly
- Low $/Page
- Duplexing

Cons: - Poor Construction (Thin Plastics)

Other Thoughts: If you need a network printer than can fit an entire ream of paper, this is your man. Otherwise, look at the P2055dn.
