1 out of 5 eggsNever thought I'd hate a printer

Pros: It's an all in one

Cons: I've had nothing but problems. With wired OR wireless printing, there are always some kind of errors. I've installed the software so many times it's ridiculous. I'm having issues with the ink cartidges too., they wanna say they have no ink when they are new, or they will smudge images. I never had this many problems with other ink jets I've owned.

4 out of 5 eggsOK

Pros: Low price. Great functionality.

Cons: Does not always grab paper, and I sometimes have to "push" paper into this thing for it to work.

Other Thoughts: Considering the low price, this printer is OK. However, if you can afford better, you might consider something else.

1 out of 5 eggsPaper Jams

Pros: The copier and scanner work perfectly. I've done plenty of scanning and it works well for an all in one printer.

Cons: PAPER JAMS!!!! This thing is horrible with paper jams. It happens all the time. Wastes ink, ruins paper, and jams every other time we print. I'm wanting to go office space on this printer. I'm actually on New egg today looking for a new printer because this printer has caused so many headaches!

Other Thoughts: hmmm did I mention it jams easily.

5 out of 5 eggsnice for the money

Pros: very easy setup. wireless is great no problems at all.

Cons: expensive replacement ink. go refurbished or refill yourself. Has the tri color tank whereas newer printers have separate color tanks (more expensive yet cheaper per tank because you use up all of the colors). Seems flimsy but for $90 I can't complain.

Other Thoughts: don't force paper out if jammed. It will break delicate plastic components inside. Usually there is an opening or cover to correctly remove the jam

2 out of 5 eggspaper feeder problem

Pros: easy wireless setup, ink has lasted so far, decent text printing, ok scanner, ok document feeder.

Cons: 1) paper input tray no longer works after 4 months!!! what is the point of having a wireless printer if you have to feed the paper by hand? 2) the HP scanner software is not functional. instead, for mac os x lion, I prefer using mac's native "image capture" app. it's still not perfect though, as it sometimes stalls, requiring turning off the printer and restarting the app.

Other Thoughts: I would not buy this printer again.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

Pros: We are happy with this printer. It prints fast and the ink is cheap. My wife does a lot of print for school. One set of XL cartridges will last for a whole semester.

Cons: Takes a long time to wake up in power save mode.

1 out of 5 eggsreal world review

Pros: Cheep wireless 4 function print system.

Cons: Often not working out of box. Breaks easily. Tricolor carthage are about $35 and don't last that long.

Other Thoughts: I work for office depot, in the time we have sold this unit it has been returned the next day not working more the all the other printers combined. In fact it was such a big deal that if you called hp they would send you a office jet 6500a for free cause they knew it was cr@p.

4 out of 5 eggsFantastic all-in-one

Pros: Works great, lots of useful features. Wireless printing is awesome and the auto document feature make it simple to digitize paper documents.

Cons: "Driver" CD comes with bloatware you will probably never use and several apps that run in the background. I think the HP support site offers an updated driver-only download without the bloat.

Other Thoughts: I'm not sure if you can scan wirelessly, I've never tried it, but if so that would be awesome. I've never used the fax either, so I don't know how well that works.

Blank ink will last forever if you buy the "XL" cartridges and print your documents with "fast draft". Pictures should not be printed with fast draft for best quality, but it will likely drain your color ink quickly.
