Pros: none

Cons: I bought 3 of these printers one was defective out of the box. I tried HP tech support for 2 day and still have not reached any where, everybody keeps giving me another number to call.

1 out of 5 eggspiece of junk

Pros: Inexpensive

Cons: Slow, bleeds color, expensive toner, not compatible with Mac (or if it is, was absolutely impossible to find how to make it work). While this is wireless, could never get it to work w/ Mac. Installed firmware updates, software updates, etc., as explained on HP site, blogs, etc., and it essentially killed the printer. Had to replace it after 2 months. Awful. Not worth the $$

2 out of 5 eggsGREAT Quality but with Problems

Pros: Incredible photo quality on standard paper. Pretty Fast. Small. CHEAP.

Cons: Would not wake to print. Printed multiples often. Printed wrong pages when trying to print duplex (manual). Tried ALL the different drivers on multiple PCs. High cost of toner for only 1000 page capacity.

Other Thoughts: Maybe ours was defective, but with many different failed HP printers as of late, our company is going away from HP. We returned this after a week and the RMA process went smoothly. Thanks Newegg!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat home printer

Pros: Color laser printer, small, fast, wireless, great for small business or school reports. Unlike some others, I thought the picture quality was fine, no different then my old inkjet printer. But that's not my main use of this gem.

Cons: I couldn't get the E-print to work. This is an app for Ipod/ipad/ipone/mac printing... not a big issue for me as I only use my Ipad/ipod for games, news, and music... not printing.

Other Thoughts: I found the Set up for wireless odd. Following the quick setup, I install the driver from the disc, followed the instructions, and I thought it was done... but no... after a few minutes of trouble shooting, I come to learn that you install the driver from disc, then run the disc set up again to establish the network... seems odd that you would have to run a disc twice for a set up... but hey it works..

Done this for 5 computer/laptops in my house, no hiccups.

Also... toner took a bit to track down, none of the main chains in town carried it, but could bring it in as a special order. As of writing this, Newegg only has the black tone, no color.

Average price (at the time of writing this) so far is between $69-85 per toner.... not bad really in the long run. Package says 1000 print jobs per toner.

Hope that helps anyone else considering this printer.

5 out of 5 eggsI don't think you could get a better printer for the money!

Pros: - Good print quality
- Faster printing than I thought
- Made the wireless connection with two other computers in a matter of minutes.

Cons: - Somewhat loud and heavy

Other Thoughts: Overall I got more than I was expecting! Always great when that happens.

1 out of 5 eggsUnusable prints

Pros: Bought this color laser to replace infernal ink jet that's always clogged when I want to use it. It works with Fedora 16, after running 'hp-setup' to download driver plugin. Takes a little time to produce full-color pages, but is satisfactory for my occasional use.

Cons: Totally unusable prints are over-saturated and a big blur. Making adjustments to brightness and saturation settings makes no difference on prints.

Other Thoughts: If this printer is ever to be used for anything but an expensive doorstop, I might have to alter some driver code, or hope that someone else updates it to solve this problem.

3 out of 5 eggsGood printer, but not all connectivity options work

Pros: Print quality is excellent for a laser, and once the machine was wired into the network, all of the computers on the network (both wired connections and wireless) are able to print flawlessly without issue.

Cons: First, the wireless connectivity with WPA2-Personal encryption simply did not work. A half a dozen other devices in the same room worked flawlessly while this printer could not get on the network, no matter how many times I tried or what methods I tried (different levels of encryption, different passkeys, WPS, manual USB setup, etc.). The wireless just doesn't work.

The installation software included was agonizingly slow on what is a very fast (Core i7 @4Ghz, 16GB memory) machine, for no reason.

Other Thoughts: Once the issues with setup were taken care of, the printer has performed flawlessly and as long as you are not relying on the wireless connectivity (I was able to connect via Ethernet instead) this is a great little printer and a very good value.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Printer

Pros: It's an HP, works perfectly, I love the wireless, but I hooked it up to my wireless router. Software easy to use.

Cons: Not the cheapest printer you can buy, but I had such fantastic service out of my old HP, that I had to buy another one when it came time to purchase a color printer

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Color Laser with Limited Photo Capacity

Pros: Ideal for low quanity color documents. If planning to use for large color photos, then see Cons: below.

Cons: You can exhaust the toner cartridges completely after 4 or 5 each 8.5 X 11 color prints! For sure, I won't be using the CP1025 for any more large color photo prints. That's OK because I did not purchase a Color Laser for photographs anyway. CP1025 toner cartridges are normally less expensive that other HP Color Laser Printers with about the same capacity.

Other Thoughts: The CP1025 Color Laser Printer is perfect for home and small office use and often receives price cuts and discounts.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat bang for the buck

Pros: Definitely the price.
Color prints rival inkjets (dithering is nearly invisible).
Built-in web UI for comprehensive configuration and status monitoring.
Upcoming firmware update to enable eprint ability.

Cons: Color prints are very slow (4 ppm).
Wireless driver installer is hopelessly broken (read other thoughts).

Other Thoughts: If your color printing needs demand quality over quantity, this is a really good option. Look elsewhere if you need fast color printing. The rated 4 ppm color print speed is no typo. Black and white is reasonably quick, though. My suggestion would be to avoid the wireless section of the installer. It simply doesn't work. Plug it in by ethernet and setup the wifi connection using the web UI (which is extensive, it lets you do advanced adjustments like controlling the yield of each of the four toners). Once done there, jot down the wifi IP address and select the "wired" section of the installer.

All that aside, this is a seriously amazing printer at this price point. If you need a small color laser printer and speed isn't important, you can't go wrong with this HP. The eprint firmware is coming soon (hopefully) and will add even more value to this printer.
