Same as Samsung ML-2510
- Pros: This is the same printer as Samsung ML-2510, it even uses the same toner.
Good driver support for ML-2510, so whatever they uses it can use as well.
- Cons: Not the best printer out there, more expensive than ML-2510.
Good so far...
- Pros: Quick, quality printing, has multiple resolutions & ink levels. Also very small. Installed very easy with the latest drivers (did not even try cd).
- Cons: Large margins, the last line of text in the windows printer test page is cut in half. The "fit to page" option does nothing to fix this.
- Other Thoughts: It looks like a $20 econo-printer...but it works a lot better for B&W than a $200 lexmark (Unless you need small margins).
Exceptional for the price
- Pros: Very fast warm-up, 25pages/min! Super easy set-up. Light and compact. The provided software catches all the hardware errors and tells you about them via popup windows. This includes paper jam, low toner, door open, etc. Pretty nice because it will show you step-by-step pics of what to do. Works well with both parallel and USB.
- Cons: Noise is a bit loud, but that's what you have to put up with when you are getting 25ppm! I really don't consider it a problem, but it IS noticably louder than the old LaserJet that did 4ppm.
Some of the onscreen manual/help is not so helpful. For instance, you can set this thing for toner saver mode; it can be 'on', 'off', or 'printer select'. They say that last one is the default, but never explain what that means.
- Other Thoughts: I saw someone complaining that this printer does not support the MAC, but Xerox has a 3125 model that should be available soon which will. Apparently there's also going to be a 3125/N that has network support. I bought this as a personal printer and it works just fine for that with my WindowsXP system. Only real problem I can see with this printer is that because it is so new, it won't be compatible with older computers running DOS or Win95.
