Pros: Duplex, good quality copies, toner cartridge price OK

Cons: I purchased 2 of these printers. Both died after about 6k copies when the fuser went bad. I had several toner cartridges so I had to get one fixed at a cost of $200. If you develop a grinding noise you will know its done. The gears in the fuser mechanism disintegrate. Too bad, a nice printer otherwise.

3 out of 5 eggsA real Xerox?

Pros: Hopefully, this model carries the legendary support that Xerox is famous for with its bigger boys. If so, then the price premium for the Xerox nameplate is worth it.

It has all the other Xerox pluses, with strong driver support.

We have the DN version of this model, and so far it has been flawless.

Cons: Is this actually made by Xerox, or a re-brand from another maker? See below thoughts.

Other Thoughts: Looks extremely similar to the Samsung ML-2851ND (which occasionally sells for under $100). I can't imagine Samsung selling a re-branded Xerox machine for that price. More likely the other way around if that is what is going on.

2 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: *It prints...sometimes.

Cons: *Can only feed one sheet/envelope at a time in manual tray
*Jams often
*Wrecks direct-printed envelopes, seals them shut (?!)
*Lower Tray can be hard to open, manual click-to-open tray pops open whenever you try to open lower tray
*Prints from manual tray often come out skewed

Other Thoughts: This is honestly the worst laser printer I've ever used. It might be okay for personal users (read: people who never have to print more than a couple pages at a time and never more than one thing from the manual tray), but from a business standpoint this thing is near-useless.

The manual tray is the absolute worst part of this printer. If you ever do printing involving envelopes or multiple sheets from a manual tray STAY FAR AWAY from this printer.

1 out of 5 eggsDO NOT BUY

Pros: It looks nice.

Cons: This printer constantly picks up multiple sheets when printing. I have tried many many different paper stocks. Jams up all the time. Avoid at all costs.

3 out of 5 eggsGood printer, but jams a lot

Pros: The printer is fast, efficient, and prints clearly. Its also relatively small for a laser printer with a built in duplex unit. Finally, the printer is relatively quiet compared to some other laser printers I've had.

Cons: I'm not sure if I have a broken unit, but this printer jams A LOT. And it is clearly jamming in one specific location in the back, as the paper always ends up at the same spot, and is creased in a way that shows it is a specific roller that is causing the trouble. So usually once every two or three times I try to print something, I have to open it up and remove the jammed paper. Also, the ink cartridge seems to have a lower capacity than some competitors, such as HP.

Other Thoughts: If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably end up getting an HP printer again. I loved my HP printer until it unceremoniously stopped working entirely after about a year. While this one works, it doesn't seem as good as the HP one I used to have. This printer is good, but the constant jamming can be really annoying.
