2 out of 5 eggsProduct/Customer Service Poor quality

Pros: While it worked, it ran very well.
Fast prints, acceptable scanning.

Cons: Had the printer for a little over a year, just long enough for the warranty to expire. (Of course) Now it is feeding pages crooked and tearing the adge of every sheet and then jamming. I have disassembled and cleaned/checked everything but this is definitely done for. I called tech support to see if there were any additional troubleshooting steps that could be suggested only to find out that they won't even answer the phone without a $25 charge. Really? Thanks, I'll go back to the other companies who's products last and who will actually speak with their customers.

Other Thoughts: A $400 printer should not be "disposable" after 1 year.

A customer shouldn't have to pay to speak with basic tech support.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent!

Pros: Prints fast/good-quality, scans to email, very reliable

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I currently have about 20 of these machines in my building. They have been great machines. Very reliable. One of them has made it to 300,000 page count, while most of the others are in the 100k to 200k range. This has been one of the best black&white multifunction machines I've ever had.

2 out of 5 eggsNot good

Pros: Fast when going. Good network printer.

Cons: Takes over a minute to warm up when you walk up to copy.
My unit gets hot than the belt that drives the copy scanner starts slipping making any copies off the glass useless until you turn it off for a while to cool down. You can use the document feeder fine but it is a bit hit or miss too. Nice 20# paper will feed fine but have any folded or thinner stock and it will jam about 50% of the time.
Add on paper tray occasionally has problems too. I just leave it empty now.

Other Thoughts: Network scanning works but it is a pain to setup. You have to create profiles on the machine for each person. Setting up and configuring the profiles is very clunky.
One day the machine just lost all the profiles, it was just blank like they never existed. Haven't felt like recreating them since. Walk up scanning with a thumb drive works faster anyway. Can only scan to JPEG though and not PDF when using thumb drive.
Toner goes way to fast on standard mode. There is an economy button on the front panel. Quality is still pretty good with this on so always make sure it is on or toner goes twice as fast.

5 out of 5 eggsMost Bang for your Buck

Pros: Only model in it's price range to support LDAP made this the one for our locations. Purchased two and have had no issues with normal use. Easy to setup and easy to use for our mostly nontechnical users. i could not find a better printer with more features in this price range. Solid machine

Cons: Toner can be a bit pricey but ship around and you will be ok. Much less than the inkjet we were using

Other Thoughts: Hopefully Xerox is leading the way on lower cost printers with more features. The industry should follow their lead

5 out of 5 eggsThis machine is the BEAST!

Pros: Very fast warming at start for a first page print.
Heavyduty - designed for a office use, many people may touched and they will not be able to brake anything.
Nice designed multiple purposes tray - if you recently print checks, so it's made for you.

Cons: Using for my home office, and can't say anything bad for now.

4 out of 5 eggsRecommended.

Pros: Easy setup, good print quality, network scans are simple and work well. All of our users can scan items across the network to their workstations with little to no tech knowledge. Computers in the network can be given friendly names so that users are easy to find on the front display.
We have 4 of these side by side in a production environment and they're holding up quite well with medium/heavy use by the employees for faxing, scanning, and printing (commercial construction office).

Xerox support desk is top notch -- the people you speak to are here in the US, and are actually quite knowledgeable. We needed a question answered regarding in-rush current, and I received the necessary details from the engineering department within a few hours and the original help desk tech followed up just to make sure that was the info I needed.

Support after the sale should always be an important consideration for anyone purchasing a product.

Cons: AFAIK can't default the machines to choose "Network Scan" as the default scan option, so users have to choose "scan", then use the arrows to get to "scan to network" every time.

The fax from computer option is a royal pain if you try to use the address book feature. Address book takes forever to look up, and is not very user friendly.

Other Thoughts: The Automatic Document Feeder broke on one of our 6-month old machines. Easy to create a service ticket with Xerox, hopefully on-site service is as good as phone support. From the looks of the ticket generation system they use, they seem to take my up-time seriously and I expect they'll service the product promptly.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Multi-Function for the $$$$

Pros: Easy to use, works right out of the box, nice multi-function for the cost. Bought 5.... so far so go.

Cons: Doesn't automatically recognize the difference between Letter and Legal documents when copying all at once. Not a big deal but would be nice to have and save time.
