5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Printer

Pros: This printer is an awesome Color Laser Printer. The setup was easy, although I had to call Xerox for some help with the wireless setup but took only a few minutes. Wireless setup is done through a webpage.

Print quality is really the best I have seen and professional looking. Unlike other reviews, I believe the toner cartridge do just fine. I suppose no one will ever be happy with the yield. This is great for our everyday printing. I find it fast for a color printer.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You can purchase an aftermarket toner cartridge fairly cheap anywhere for about 18-20 bucks. Just think about this, cheaper than most inkjet carts, no smearing, and true laser quality print quality... Very cost effective. Printing speed is same whether black or color.

2 out of 5 eggsBe careful if you purchase this printer

Pros: Great print quality. Access to Xerox "page pack" maintenance and toner program.

Cons: Almost everything... I had to return to Xerox. 1st page warm up is sloooow. Xerox calculates print speed after printer starts, not after you push print. Between the time it takes for the print job to spool and then for the printer to warm up, 1st page is a minimum 30 sec. The scanner cannot be computer driven, you must initiate scan from the printer. Set up took a Xerox 2nd level engineer 3 hours on my computer. Need more?

Other Thoughts: I purchased because I have other Xerox equipment in my shop. I wanted to have the convenience of 1 vendor. The printer is very well made and substantial, but the computer-user interface is very poor. These printers are designed for work groups & government. I cannot afford to go to the printer every time I need to load an envelope, scan to email, scan to OCR, etc.

5 out of 5 eggsDont listen to the bad reviews, This little unit is a GEM!

Pros: Convenient size
print quality is excellent both B/W and color
Has the functionality of most full size MFC printers
Network enabled
Configures VIA web browser

Cons: The only Con so far I can report about this specific unit is that when setting up network scanning, the manual states to use a / before entering the share path. Gave me headaches until speaking with xerox support where they told me to remove the / before the share name, worked like a charm afterwards.

Other Thoughts: All in all this is a fantastic print/scan/fax from the most well known name in the biz. Im glad I took the risk in purchasing despite the bad reviews.
Some people stated the replacement toners are expensive, which is true ONLY if youre buying OEM replacements. Non-oem toner cartridges are actually quite cheap if you look around a little.

1 out of 5 eggsNot Good

Pros: turned on an wifi config fast

Cons: Toner powder all over the place, package was intact, congratulations UPS, Printer was used before and powder toner (cyan and magenta) all over inside the printer. It was not a new printer, what a shame!

1 out of 5 eggsNot the Xerox you're looking for

Pros: Affordable for a Xerox.

Cons: This unit is non-serviceable, meaning if anything breaks my laser printer guy can't get parts, and get certified for them. Apparently this is the cheap throw away model. I bought 3 in the last year for three different branch locations and within 2 months (2 in the last week) all three have had fatal failures related to a fuser a paper-jam that is inaccessible, and a weak little part that was dislodged while the user try to clear a paper-jam. At thsi point they are still covered by warranty so I am getting quick turn around on replacement. These people will have my head once they fail and are no longer under warranty.

Other Thoughts: The whole reason I looked into Xerox was because the HP OfficeJets are throw away items at this point. I will tell my clients to strongly consider leased products from now on.

1 out of 5 eggsVery dissapointed!

Pros: Easy set up

Cons: Cartridges last no time! Had this since Feb 2013 and in 3 months already replaced all cartridges yet we print very little.

Other Thoughts: Reminds me of the 30.00 ink jets that cost over a 100.00 to replace the cartridges in and then they last no time. Sad day in the Laser world. Check your print capacity and then take it with a grain of salt. Set ALL computers to draft mode or end up like me. Minolta way better.

1 out of 5 eggsNot much better than inkjet

Pros: Multifunction, easy set up, quality print.

Cons: Not much better than an ink jet - goes through cartridges like an ink jet through ink - pass this one up and dont believe the paper count - even in draft mode burns through them - looks like a high volume machine but it aint. Havent had it long and already over a 100 in replacement cartridges - VERY LIGHT WEIGHT in printing capacity.

Other Thoughts: It looks like the days of getting a laser printer and not worrying about replacing the cartridges are slipping away in Xerox land. They;ve taken on the ink jet legacy and the "Replace Often" motto along with low print capacity. Seriously Dissapointed.

2 out of 5 eggsSmall printer, expensive toners

Pros: Light, weighs about 30 lbs. Small foot print. Printer was easy to set up.

Cons: I printed a few pages, and the cyan toner is OUT!! The toner is difficult to find, as not many stores/websites carry these toners. Also, for original Xerox Cyan toner, it's about $50-$60 and only yields 1000 pages. Most HP toners can yield about 2000 pages.

Other Thoughts: I am going back to an HP printer

5 out of 5 eggsGreat little machine

Pros: Easy to set up
Plenty of features
Nice design
Reliable
Good networking options

Cons: None so far

Other Thoughts: Great machine, convenient design. Very flexible in terms of networking options. You can have it scan right to a password protected folder on a server or even ftp. Good fit for business or even corporate environment. Not the fastest printing machine out there but no complaints for the price.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat printer - more Mac support!!

Pros: First laser printer I've owned and love it. Did a lot of research before purchasing. This printer was chosen for supporting Macs, decent cost per page, decent price of toner (and third party toner is very reasonable), and footprint. This printer has a smaller footprint than my HP inkjet all in one.

Xerox says it supports Macs - not exactly true (see below).

Print quality is outstanding. Scanner is impressive as well.

Cons: My only issues so far is setup when using Macs. The setup assistant doesn't load on 10.7 or 10.8. I have Parallells and of course it pops right up in windows 7.

Wireless printer setup can be done right from printer - which is what I ended up doing (just connect to wifi).

Drivers installed on both 10.7 and 10.8 (by manually installing 10.7 supported driver). Once 10.8 tried to print it would tell you driver has a problem but clicking 'repair driver' solved my issues.

I don't understand how 6 months after Apple releases 10.8 that xerox doesn't have a supported driver!!!!

I spent an hour attempting to setup scan to email but the unit doesn't support SSL encryption and I couldn't find a provider with optional SSL. Scanning to network is also a nightmare - I couldn't figure it out after hours. You can do a lot of setup by accessing the printers IP address on any browser (used my iPad). But even after following all instructions online the scan still fails!!

Other Thoughts: You can always scan to USB drive - printer is quieter than my inkjet was.

This is well worth the $300 it ran me for. Of course Newegg had the best price on the market!!
