2 out of 5 eggsSucks ink!

Pros: Beautiful prints, but at a HUGE price!

Cons: TINY ink cartridges. Ridiculous price.

Cartridges are no longer clear. but BLACK! You have NO idea how much ink is REALLY left! Light starts blinking at about half full (by their measure).

I like Canon printers for their print quality, but it looks like it's time to switch.

Other Thoughts: This thing drinks ink, or maybe it evaporates. What a joke.

5 out of 5 eggsexactly what I looked for (and a bit more)

Pros: prints beautiful pictures
wi-fi works great

Cons: somewhat slow (compared to previously owned printers)

Other Thoughts: I bought this to replace a 5yo Canon MP530 that failed. The main consideration was that it be wi-fi accessible so that we could print from all other computers on our home network without having to start the desktop. It does that. Prints all text and images I've sent with no trouble - photos look great. I use the scanner quite a bit and it works fine. In addition, one thing we didn't consider was printing photos from a smart phone, which we found later can be done. This is not something we would have required, but it's a nice bonus. I still haven't set up the FAX (and to be frank, I"m not sure I ever will). The one downside is that it prints slower than I recall the MP530 doing. We don't print enough for this to be an issue, but I can imagine in a business context, it might be a problem.

5 out of 5 eggsNice

Pros: This was a dream to setup. I saw another user say you need cables. They did not read the instructions. I set this up in 20 minutes pure wireless. The software load on my PC was rather clunky another 20 minutes (win7). It only took 10 minutes on my XP machine from the internet (go figure).
Ipad, Iphone, Ipod all see as an Airprinter. Plus there is an easyphotoprint APP that you can get for free that allows photo printer and scanner interface.

Cons: Ink tanks are a bit small.

Other Thoughts: I have an old Pixma i4000 (10 years). Still works but is not all in one. It has individual ink tanks. The Magenta runs out faster than the yellow or blue. I had another cheap printer with combined tanks. The color tank runs out as soon as one color goes. Enve thought these are smaller the individual is the way to go IMHO.

5 out of 5 eggsNice Product for the price.

Pros: Prints, Scans, copies, Faxes, with a automatic document feeder. Has wireless interface and USB interface. Duplexes with both the ADF and printer. That's a lot of features for the money.

Cons: None that I have seen yet.

Other Thoughts: I owned a Canon MP830, similar to the MX892 for ~ 7 years and it performed very well till it failed. This is a similar machine for about half the price, and it has some extra features. I haven't used the wireless connection since I don't need this feature. The other features I have used for the last month, and so far they all have worked well. (This MFP was about half the price of the MP830). If you buy third party ink cartridges you can cut your ink costs by about a third. For a home or small office this should be a good machine for the money. Print and Scan quality are good this application. I found the user interface easy to use, and the supplied software easy too. It uses very little power in standby mode so it could be left on. Laser printers typically use a lot more standby power due to the fuser heaters. Based on my short term use to date, I would recommend this MFP.

5 out of 5 eggsNice printer

Pros: 150 sheet tray, WPS, 802.11n Wireless support. 9600dpi color, easy to setup, also works with Linux (Fedora 17), pretty good price for what you get. Auto duplex (double sided) printing. Don't have to install HP software agent.

Cons: MobilePhone direct to printer is AirPrint (Apple iPhone) only. No Android support, had to buy BlueTooth adapter from Canon ($60.00) now I can print directly from my cellphone. Ink cartridges are a bit small (no larger cartridge option) but they priced a little lower also.

Other Thoughts: The 802.11n is very handy, I can plug the printer anywhere in my house and print to it. The wireless speed and range are much better than my "802.11b abd g" printers. The pictures turn out above average compared to most other "glossy paper" photo printers I've used in the past.

1 out of 5 eggsUser Hostile Setup

Pros: Lots of potential features, if you can get them all to work.

Cons: The exact opposite of User Friendly, its User Hostile. Not easy to setup.

Other Thoughts: For starters, I owned a Canon PIXMA printer and after working more or less successfully for a number of years, decided it was time for an upgrade. I originally bought this new Canon printer because of all the connected features like Apple AirPrint and Google CloudPrint. While AirPlay worked out of the box, when I went to setup CloudPrint, I had to find instructions online. Found those, with the first step being to check the firmware. Here’s where the silliness that is Canon started. To check the firmware, you have to print out a cartridge alignment page and it’s printed at the bottom (instead of just putting it in the setup menu on the built-in printer screen. Fine, did that, found out I needed to update my firmware. Ok, I’m a fairly technical person, I can handle that. Here’s where things got worse: I bought this printer as a WiFi network printer. So guess what? I did not buy a USB cable nor have any intention of ever connecting it to a computer directly. Canon also did no
