1 out of 5 eggsNever again, CANON

Pros: It is an affordable printer!.. is what they want you to think.

Cons: Ink scam. Ink cartridges are about $17.00 each and there are 7 of them. Run out of Cyan? We'll, we're not even going to let you print in grey-scale, or use the scanner until you click on the provided link and buy more CYAN. I never even used this printer to print photographs, maybe 5 internet articles had pictures that would require color ink, and yet- apparently Cyan was used at twice the rate of the other ink types.

Other Thoughts: I think this is a scam, and I'll tell you right now- I'm more likely to march to CANON headquarters and propel their consumer predation machine through a window, than I am to buy ink replacements. Looking around online I'm finding discussion of the ink cartridges being on timers- after a set amount of time, even if you haven't used the ink- the printer will go on lockdown and prevent you from doing anything with it until you follow their provided link to 'Buy Ink Now". I'll do my best to protect people from CANON's awful business tactics.

As for the printer itself, the wireless printing function would barely work, if at all, was the main reason I purchased this in the first place.

1 out of 5 eggsTakes 2 min to begin to print, bad scan software

Pros: Nice prints if you can stand to wait 1-2 minutes Each and every time you begin to print, even fast (semi-draft) BW.
You will spend you wait time cursing Canon.
The scan software is absolute junk, nearly unusable.
Scans fine but is a pain in the but to save scans compared to previous Canon scanner software.

I had MG5220 - great software, fast printing, really nice until it died from B200 error. Of course its software doesn't see the MG6320 which means I have to use the new garbage software.

Cons: Not worth the wait time to print and poor scan software.
I have had many printers, this isn't a good one. Takes
too much time if you don't want to mess with routine functions.

Other Thoughts: I guess I will buy an HP. I used to like Samsung until the last laser printer was junk. Note these units get renamed a lot so buyers don't see the reviews. Really disappointing that printers have become so hit and miss instead of all now mature and easy to use products.

4 out of 5 eggsCD Tray Update

Pros: To update my previous post regarding the lack of a CD tray, I found it. It is attached to the underside of the upper (small) paper tray. I haven't tried it, but at lesat it is there.
The other Pros I listed, great print quality and fast second print still apply

Cons: The other Cons I mentioned, slow startup and no rear feed for full sized paper also still apply.

Other Thoughts: Still gets 4 eggs and New Egg gets 5+ eggs every time.

4 out of 5 eggsStarts slow finishes fast

Pros: Very high print quality. Multiple tanks, including gray, produce excellent photo prints. When it wakes up and starts to print, it is pretty fast.

Cons: As noted elsewhere, this printer can take a loooong time to 'wake up'. If the printer is asleep, time to first print can be well over a minute. Manually cycling the printer power off and back on speeds the process, but is a pain. Also, the main paper tray is itty bitty and there is no way to feed a single page of full size (81/2 x 11) photo paper. Even so, I give it 4 eggs for print quality.

Other Thoughts: Note that Canon's description of "What's in the box" references a CD/DVD tray for directprinting on CDs. Newegg's web listing does not include this information, and my printer did NOT come with the tray, so if you're thinking of printing on CDs, look for a tray before you order.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Makes nice prints. Works.

Cons: No rear feed for 8 1/2 x 11 photo paper

Other Thoughts: Bought this to replace an MX922 that arrived DOA. NewEgg gave me a full refund on the 922 and sent a free shipping label. Didn't need the fax, so I went with this one. So far, so good. Makes beautiful prints, but I wish it had a rear feed for my full size photo paper, like my old MX700 did. Oh well...

5 out of 5 eggsImmensely Satisfied

Pros: Very good quality scans. Very good quality prints. Printer is easy to use. Printer has sleek styling. Printer fits closely to my wall as it has a front loading tray system. Ethernet connectivity. Very fast shipping (as I live a day away - by UPS - from the Memphis warehouse). Price - was able to buy this printer in a time window where Newegg had it on sale for $99.99 (you just can't beat getting a $200 MSRP printer for half price).

Cons: Somewhat large foot print.

Other Thoughts: I bought this printer for the scanner and to supplement a B&W laser network printer that I have set up (which is why I prized the Ethernet connectivity), so most print jobs that do not absolutely require color will not be sent to this printer, so me making conclusions about ink usage would not be appropriate.

3 out of 5 eggsGet XL ink

Pros: – Very clean sleek design.
– No rear paper tray means you can place this printer very close to the wall giving you more desk space for whatever you plan on using that extra space for.
– Prints on plain paper are very sharp and clear vs the MP730 it replaced
– Green, turns off after idling for a period of time
– Have all my computers at home connected to it wirelessly. Works well with both Windows 7 and OS X Snow Leopard (have not tried Win8 or newer versions of OS X)
– With AirPrint I can send prints to the printer wirelessly with my iPhone (not sure if Android phones are compatible)
– Print tray pops open automatically when printing

Cons: – Sometimes the printer would take over a minute to initialize after a print command has been sent, same goes for Scan and Copy. -1 egg
– Biggest issue I have with this printer is that the touch screen sometimes freezes/locks up. In order to remedy the issue you must turn off the printer and disconnect the power. Simply turning the printer off will not work. - 1 egg
– Standard ink cartridges do not last long, go for the XL cartridges if you print frequently

Other Thoughts: Purchased from another site. Has dropped $50 since I last bought it.
