4 out of 5 eggsGood Little Printer

Pros: Good value. Nice output. Wireless.

Cons: Replacement for IP4500. This printer is a little flimsy, not built very solidly. OK for occasional home use though. Not for kids. Somewhat noisy but not a problem here. Takes a while to print first page. Overall fine for a home printer.

Other Thoughts: Several reviews stated that the wireless only supports
WEP authentication. Not true of mine. Also supports WPA/WPA2. Perhaps a firmware update from Canon's web site will fix older ones.

1 out of 5 eggsSad little printer

Pros: none

Cons: -Takes 10 minutes to print out anything
-Not user friendly
-Horrible software
-unintelligent design, and overall, leaves MUCH to be desired
-Must be connected to a computer via USB in order to be switched from direct connection OR network. It can not do both, and you have to re-run the horrible software to change this.
-No options for network settings, so if the password is changed, you have to re-run the horrible software
-Terrible image quality, even after adjusting it
-There are NO good features to this piece of horrible junk.

5 out of 5 eggsWell Worth The Money!!

Pros: Good build quality for the price, also fantastic image quality both standard paper and photo paper. Have not tried CD Printing yet but was one of the deciding factors on buying this printer. Great printer, great price... cant go wrong.

Cons: only has WPA encryption for wireless... be prepared to wait 5-8 min when first turning it on (first time powering up out of box). was more funny than anything, assuming it was running threw a system check but only did it the very first time It powered on.

Other Thoughts: Ink is Cheap!!

5 out of 5 eggsSolid printer, average software

Pros: Small, compact size. Excellent color output, prints to printable CD\DVD media. Easy wireless connection.

Cons: Average at best software in particular for disk (CD) printing. At least when I import the image file the Canon software appears to distort it. Figured out a work-around to make it work. As always, the Canon brand ink is ridiculously expensive, have used after market brands with no issues.

Other Thoughts: Well performing printer for the price. Compact size a plus. Excellent color printing results, even on CD media - the main reason i chose this model. Once you understand the limits of the included software - at least for the disk printing - it works well. Solid value for the price. Recommended!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Printer

Pros: Pretty solid little printer. It prints fast, and with good quality. It's a bit loud, but nothing too bad. I've not tried to print a disk, but I will. If I don't update/add a new review, you (the person reading this) should assume it prints CD's just fine.

It duplexes, which is actually pretty handy.

Cons: The wireless is a bit of a shame. It has WPS, and it's not configurable. I'm a pretty serious tech guy, and I have a router with DD-WRT custom firmware. Since WPS is a giant security loop-hole, I can't use WPS. If it was actually configurable WiFi, that would be much more useful. -1 egg.

Unlike another reviewer, I found a .pdf guide from the canon website saying that it will, not work with WEP security. Still, it should actually have configurable WiFi.

Other Thoughts: It doesn't scan, but my old printer still does that fine (it just doesn't print). It feels pretty sturdy. Some of the smaller printers out there just feel like cheap plastic shoe boxes.

1 out of 5 eggsThis one is on Newegg

Pros: None

Cons: I bought it. Paid for it.
It was lost in shipping.
I have no printer
I received NO Refund.
How is this my fault?
I did receive an email from newegg telling me it might show up someday. A 2- year customer and now I have to settle for staples.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty Good

Pros: Really fantastic image quality.

3rd Party ink for this model is available, fairly cheap and of better then average quality.

A touch faster and was cheaper then my last Canon Pixma which was about a year old.

I didn't have any trouble with the wireless connection or disc printing using Nero Cover Designer(other then the usual playing with the alignment settings in Nero). Prints really beautiful discs when setup properly.

Cons: No rear tray is a minor annoyance but the underside tray holds ~30-40 sheets so it's not that big of a deal really.

Uses a far amount of ink, and I don't mean it drinks it too fast, it literally uses more then is necessary. I needed to set the light/dark setting to somewhere around -20 or the colors were much stronger then in the original image. The colors look much more vibrant and rich but much darker and less accurate and image accuracy is important for what I do with it so I needed to turn it down to get good results but now they look really fantastic. This was the same using both Canon and 3rd Party inks.

Other Thoughts: When I was researching this, the biggest complaint I heard was the lack of rear tray and I think the reason for that was that there really isn't any other downside to this printer and even that is a minor one really. I print around 10-20 8.5x11 photos a day so I need to refill the tray every couple of days so unless you print hundreds of sheets a day it's really not a big deal and if you do print hundreds of sheets per day this isn't the printer for you anyway since I would be surprised if it could hold up under that kind of workload for more then a week or two.

3 out of 5 eggsPIXMA iP7220

Pros: Wonderful colors. Prints very well. As an inkjet printer this one amazes me because I'm strictly a laser printer guy. Got it to print t-shirt logo designs. Does that very well, but iron on paper stinks. not the printer's fault. I consider it a great backup printer for my Okidata C3400n led printer. Glad i bought it.

Cons: Failed to setup the wireless feature repeatedly, without and with the USB cable. The process just plain stinks and the wireless feature should be recognized automatically. Or you should at least be able to add it by using the network key. It seems to accept only WEP keying and I use WPA/WPA2. But no matter what I did, I simply couldn't get it to function with my wireless connection. All my other wireless capable devices have no issues. Not even entering info directly into the modem/router helped.

Other Thoughts: With exception of the wireless connection, the printer is a real joy to use. I can't say I'm sorry i bought it because it is so good otherwise.

5 out of 5 eggsIt Does Print Discs After All!

Pros: Ignore my last review, I managed to find some Canon software that will print CDs and DVDs on this printer. It's "CD_LabelPrint_1.41.exe", and can be found on Canon's web site as well as other web sites (just do a Google search for it).

Cons: Why doesn't this software come with the printer???

Other Thoughts: I installed and ran the CD_LabelPrint_1.41.exe software in Windows 8 64-bit, the latest Microsoft OS, so there should be no problem.
