Awful Printer--Stay Away from Kodak products
- Pros: None. It is a piece of junk.
- Cons: Don't fall for the hype about saving money on ink. The print cartridges last less than half the advertised amount. Printer heads break often and have to be replaced. Printer constantly Jams. Print quality is constantly poor. Kodak customer service is Awful.
- Other Thoughts: Wish I had read the reviews on Newegg before I brought this would have saved a hundred. Live and learn. Will buy the next printer with good reviews that goes on special from Newegg. I have never been disappointed or misled with anything I have gotten from Newegg.
Kodak ESP5 printer
- Pros: None, None, None. I wish I could give it a rating of negative 100.
- Cons: Stay as far away from this product as you can, it's recycled garbage, a total waste of time and money. It's not a printer, it's a jamming machine.
When it isn't jamming, it sucks up the paper and wraps it around the rollers. The first one I received was so bad, Kodak exchanged it for another. The second one jammed as well, and never printed anything. Constant downloads of the software, a new printhead, new ink cartridges and reruns of the diagnostics, failed to solve the problem. In the end I purchased an Epson NX515 (great printer), and wrote a letter of complaint to the CEO of Eastman kodak. Then I took a 25 pound sledge hammer, and smashed the worthless piece of Kodak ESP5 junk to bits. It didn't get me my money back, but it sure made me feel better.
- Other Thoughts: This printer should be recalled. If Kodak had any integrity - which they do not - they would return the money to anyone who has been duped into purchasing it.
DO NOT BUY!!!
- Pros: The ink is about 1/2 of what it cost for my last printer. The whole lineup of kodak printers are very aesthetically pleasing.
- Cons: The first con I discovered was that this printer is LOUD!! Its rediculous you'd have to hear it to believe it. The next thing that I noticed was that although the ink is cheap you'll constantly be running to the store to purchase more so eventually you spend the same or more in ink. The printer was almost bearable for some time until the scanner stopped scanning, it started shooting paper out the front instead of printing, and all sorts of other firmware related issues. Not to mention how bad the included software is.
- Other Thoughts: It wasn't even worth contacting customer support, upon reading blogs and reviews of the printer, I learned that numerous people had tried this multiple times with all the Kodak printer models. Basically, a 30 dollar printer at the local superstore would have worked 100 times better and I wouldn't be short over 100 on a Kodak piece of junk.
