Rosewill RTCA-TN580 Black High Yield Toner Cartridge Replacement for TN580 TN540

Pros: Worked great. No streaks or other blemishes ever appeared on any of my pages. Clear housing allows you to see when the toner is empty

Cons: I estimate I received 5000 pages from this toner. Never received a low toner warning.

Other Thoughts: I installed this toner 3 years ago into my printer, and it has never given me a problem. Prints were crisp and clear up until about the last 200 pages or so. I like that I can see the toner in the reservoir.

I have never tried the OEM TN580 cartridge, so I don't know how this compares as far as yield. The main concerns when buying aftermarket toner are:
1) Will it damage my printer (ie Spill or leak toner into my printer)
2) Will the print quality be equivalent to OEM
3) Will the toner last as long as OEM.

For items 1 and 2, the toner performed satisfactorily. I cannot judge based on #3 since I have never used the similar OEM product.

The big question is: Would I buy this again?
Yes, very much so

Other Thoughts: We use to run down to a big box store like Stap**s and pay over $100 for one toner, we have now been using these. So far the print quality has been as good as OE. Sometime aftermarket toners are hit and miss but so far we haven't gotten a bad one yet.

Pros: cheap

Cons: cheap!

Other Thoughts: Error on the caption If this is a TN-580 replacement, then the other TN number would be 550, NOT 540!

Pros: Great deal at this price point, worked well.

Cons: The Rosewill gave me the first toner out indicator at about 5,000 copies, a bit less than oem.

Other Thoughts: Overall a great deal. You could throw out half the cartridges and still be ahead. Note that I haven't yet coverd the toner sensor window so not sure how many copies will actually get before it totally conks out.

Pros: Cheaper than OEM

Cons: When the toner cartridge is bad there is no recourse and you have wasted your money.

Other Thoughts: Do not believe their "canned" response - to call them to resolve the problem. They lie. They simply do not do anything.

We had one good Rosewill toner and we also had a bad one (streaks, un-even, right out of the box). Called and emailed to Rosewill. Was told our complaint needed to be forwarded to the correct department.

When we got no response after a week we called again and got same response from Rosewill. Also tried via email.

End result - - nothing. Wasted our time with them until we finally gave up. Honestly – I think that is their game plan.

You need to figure in the cost of the useless products vs the savings compared to OEM. Decide how many of the inevitable bad cartridges (and how much money) you are willing to eat – then proceed with caution.

Pros: Non-original manufacturer toner is usually risky but this time it proved to be an excellent value. No side effects so far.

Cons: None.

Pros: inexpensive

Cons: Print quality terrible on first use. The toner would not distribute evenly on a new cartrige. I shaked it. I cleaned the corona wire. I checked the drum... and it still printed light and smudged on the right side. I replaced it with the previous old cartrdige and it printed well. The quality and workmanship on these cartridges is shoddy. You get some OK ones and then you get one that is bad out of the gate.

Other Thoughts: We use about 10 toner cartridges a month and have used Rosewill cartridges for about a year. The quality has been hit and miss on both Cartridges and Drums. They cost less than half of their OEM equivalents, but the quality is not consistent. I will probably switch to OEM or another brand for peace of mind when ordering.

Cons: Dumped all its toner, ruined printer drum

Other Thoughts: Installed in a HL-1650, one of the listed printers. And yes, it was fully seated into drum unit and locked in place. Got one 16 page print job out of the toner, then a few all black pages or large black streaked pages. Followed by printer error messages of jamed paper, with no paper stuck inside printer.

The toner cart had dumped virtually all its toner inside printer. Toner was actually coming out of the printer top cooling vent and depositing around vent like a mini Mount St Helens. I took out the toner and there were mounds of toner on the drum and jammed inside the drum and spread throughout the printer.

It ruined the drum and possibly the entire printer, not sure can ever get all the loose toner out. I'll never let a Rosewill toner cart anywhere near my printers.

Rosewell will probably print their canned response that "I may have received a defective product(you think), call them for a resolution" What are they going to do, buy me a new drum or printer? Not likely

Other Thoughts: I checked on the Rosewill site to ensure that the cartridge was compatible with my laser printer,

Pros: My brother-in-law gave me his HL-5240 when he got a new printer. After extending the original cartridge for several months with the "tape over toner level eye" trick, it was time for a replacement. After checking prices on OEM cartridges, I came to NewEgg and found this one on sale for twenty bucks.

Some other manufacturers offer a reduced capacity version to reduce the price, but the Rosewill cartridge offers the same page yield as the OEM high yield version that costs 2 to 3 times as much with no noticeable difference in performance.

I don't use my printer all that much, but if I ever manage to use up this cartridge, I'll be buying this one again, which is about the best endorsement I can give.

Other Thoughts: Took the old cartridge to a national office supply chain and received a $2 store credit for recycling it.
