Pros: Easy to install!

Cons: Have used these replacements in past without problems. Just opened a new cartridge this am to print. Drum and Toner show bad. Cleaned unit and cartridge again as directed. Still defective. Will never buy again.

Other Thoughts: This is a quality control problem. Avoid these cartridges.

Pros: Yields very close to advertised page counts. Phenomenally less expensive than the OEM. Very low percentage of defective units.

Cons: Sometimes low toner light does not reset (can be fixed, see below)

Other Thoughts: I am a System Admin for a school, and we run about 20 of these printers. We've been using these toner cartridges exclusively since we bought them. I have only had one unit that gave me the light side printing with dark in the middle. When we first were testing if these were viable alternatives, I output a printer diagnostic page which reveals page counts and then ran another when the cartridge ran out. I did this on 6 different printers and had an average print count of about 2100-2200 pages per cartridge. While that is a fair percentage below advertised, the price per page is still very exceptional. With only one bad unit in at least 40 cartridges, this is one of the best buys in laser printers.

For those of you who have had issues with the toner light not resetting, here is how to fix it:

Open the front cover and leave open while completing the following steps.
- Turn the printer off.
- Hold the ‘go’ button while turning the printer on. All lights should be on.
- Release the ‘go’ button (or “start’ button).
- Press the ‘go’ button (or “start’ button) 2 times quickly.
- Pause. All panel lights should be on.
- Press the ‘go’ button (or “start’ button) 5 times quickly.
The toner light should be off. (error may be flashing)
The paper light should be on or flashing.
- Close cover. The ready light should be the only light on.

Pros: Price and customer service

Cons: The "toner low" message is there and cannot be fixed. I called the customer service and they issued me a refund. But I have to ship the defective item first to receive the refund. I hope they can just do an exchange for me. That will save me time to reorder.

Pros: Price

Cons: After installation, the printer still shows the message "toner low" and checked the ink level, it is very low. I thought it might be an error, then I tried the settings suggested by the instruction paper coming with the product, but still could not fix this problem.

Cons: Worst print output I have seen. Poor contrast and vbery dark. Includes lines in printouts.

1 out of 5 eggsYou Get What You Pay For - Page Yield is Hundreds, Not Thousands

Pros: These installed easy on my first try and worked great. The price was great so I figured "what a deal" and bought several more to stock up. Unfortunately, even the starter toner that came with my printer lasted longer.

I check the page counter when I installed it. Rosewill claims the yield is 2600 pages. But I only got 658 pages and I don't print anything fancy. Mostly just text. That's nearly 2k less than advertised. Very dissapointed. Yes these were cheap but you get what you pay for.

Cons: Yield Much Lower Than Advertised.

Other Thoughts: When the low yield is factored in, these are much more expensive than one would originally realize.

Pros: Inexpensive, Rosewill name typically good.

Cons: Obnoxious gear noise.

Other Thoughts: The cartridge had to be installed twice to recognize but then it printed. Coverage and print quality seems fine. But there's a nasty sounding gear cycling noise on every page print . So far it's not getting worse, but it sure is obnoxious.

Pros: Cheap

Cons: Started printing light on both sides, normal in the middle...after six months. Usually takes me 5-6 years to use up a regular toner cartridge. Tried all the tricks like shaking it, turned it upside down, banged it. Same results. I've actually owned dozens of lasers since the hp laserjet II, and never had a toner cartridge die on me well short of its rated life. All I do is print 20-50 text pages a month. Printer says its only printed a few hundred pages. Installed the original starter cart and prints fine.

Other Thoughts: Seems like these are a big doody (since my original word was deemed offensive) shoot. At least I didn't spend much on it. Also pretty sure I didn't get the rebate. It shows as having been fulfilled but I don't remember getting the check.
