3 out of 5 eggsNice small work group printer with a few issues

Pros: 1. Very Good print quality
2. Supplies fairly priced
3. Good speed
4. Internet printing available
5. Duplex printing and scanning
6. Document feeded very handy

Cons: 1. Can't use Ethernet and wireless, and must choose one or the other.
2. Document feeder jams sometimes

Other Thoughts: This is a good printer and in the 3-4 months we've owned it it has worked really well. The big issues I have and the reason I only gave it 3 stars is you must choose to use either the Ethernet or the wireless. Both is not an option. This is not clear in the marketing materials and was one of the main features we were looking for. We have laptop users that connect to our network from around the office wirelessly and a few desktop users that use Ethernet. I bought this hoping to avoid having to set up a print server but ended up having to do it anyway since the folks on wireless can't print without it.

The other issue I've had is paper jams in the document feeder when sending 10 or more pages through. I'd estimate it jams on large jobs about 20% of the time which is really frustrating. Splitting the jobs up into smaller batches solves the issue but also increases the time and inconvenience

All this said we needed a new printer and ended up keeping it. It's a good printer just realize it does have shortcomings.

5 out of 5 eggsFast,Reliable,Cheap, Easy Setup

Pros: Small package great looking printer. Easy to use easy to setup, this printer took the place of a Dell 2155CN printer this HP printer unsurprisingly outshines the rebaged Lexmark Dell printer.

Cons: Drivers a bit cumbersome, can't install it from the Add Printer option, and point to a driver. You have to run the full feature setup which is a pain. Not enough to take an egg off for but they could make it to where you can just print to it and not install things that you will never use a workstation.

Other Thoughts: Great printer, don't let the printer drivers i mentioned scare you away, it works flawlessly once it's installed. Just used to a simple point to the driver and printer system traditionally installed in the Enterprise world i am used to.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA

Pros: Still a good MFP

Cons: Lack of support

Other Thoughts: It's hardware, things happen and I got the lemon. My wife threw out the retail packaging without my knowledge so NE policy is not to RMA without retail packaging. Customer service rep told me manufacturer would not accept it back without it. Manufacturer told me they would have and I would have gladly purchased the packing materials and paid to send it back. It's over a week later and still waiting for support from the manufacturer with no hope in sight for a resolution.

4 out of 5 eggsFairly Happy but rough edges

Pros: Was looking to upgrade a printer and get all the features have been waiting for (color, AirPrint, fax, decent host scanner). My prior printer finally was unusable when I migrated my mac to Mountain Lion and PC to Windows 8 and then no drivers left anywhere.

Cons: It's a little noisy, the blacks seem a little light in printing (might be a setting). As others point out it seems the a little "cheap" with some of the plastic parts, but that is the status I think universally now.

Other Thoughts: The HP software is a little bit silly, you can change some things through a web interface (fax number, name, etc for banner), but not other things (you can not change distinctive ring). As of firmware 08082012 anyway. Also when registering the HP website asks for at least two usernames/passwords, maybe 3 (one for product registration, one for eprint, and I think another if you are ordering supplies) -- Maybe could have used the same, but it certainly didn't seem like it.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good laser printer

Pros: Color, multi-function, laser printer. Toner cartridges are cheaper than other comparable products. Print quality is acceptable, scanning is equally acceptable. Can print to my printer from just about anywhere in the world.

Cons: Print and scanning quality could be better, but then again, that would increase the price also. Wireless transfers from scanner to computer are a bit slow.

Other Thoughts: For the cost, it is an over all good multi-function colour laser printer. Quality of the design is very good. Touch screen works perfectly.

5 out of 5 eggsVery good laser printer

Pros: Color, multi-function laser printer. I have already had the chance to use all functions of this printer except for the fax. I can say that I'm very pleased that I purchased this product. It is set up as a wireless printer and functions perfectly, I can even print to this printer when I'm not in the office.

Cons: Only thing I can think of is that I wish I purchased the additional paper try when I ordered this.

Other Thoughts: All in all, I think this is a great Color Laser Multi-function printer. Cartridges are relatively cheap compared to other laser printers.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Unit, easy to install

Pros: Once you establish this device on the network, setup could not be easier. You simply web into the printer and select the HP Smart Install directly from the unit! You can do this for each PC on your network very easily.

No discs to install, etc. It even has a firmware update where it goes directly to the web for the new file, all from the touchscreen interface.

Cons: I have had some trouble with a dynamic IP address and set it to a static IP. It is best to re-enter the WEP key immediately after you change the IP address. After that, CYCLE POWER to the printer.

Although you can web into the new IP address, you cannot SCAN to a netork folder until you cycle power.

Other Thoughts: The scan to network folder is great although it would be nice to be able to set the filename structure.

5 out of 5 eggsgREAT lASER pRINTER

Pros: Works Flawlessly
Small Footprint
Easy and seamless function via wirelesas with MAC and Windows OS's

Cons: Absolutly NONE

Other Thoughts: You cannot find a better economical printer for color and a MAC... I installed one for a client and it was amazinfg to see the quality of a color print... It is no performance color inkjet - but to get crisp and accurate color with the reliability of toner... YOU can't go wrong here!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat office printer

Pros: It works great in the network... Installation is very easy,
* unpack,
* connect to the network
* update Firmware to the latest one (very important, otherwise you will miss a lot of features)
* go to your browser and type IP address of the printer
* use SmartInstall to install the printer

Cons: Well... I do not see so far.

Other Thoughts: * prints beautifully
* works great with Windows 7, XP, Linux and Mac OS (this one i have not tested yet)
* after Firmware update you can scan to the email, usb drive or shared folder
* configuration panel is web based and has a lot of features, like address book, security, etc.
* touch screen is great, makes the printer easy to use (I had Minolta C10 biz Hub, and I am so happy that I got rid of it)
* I share this printer via Active Directory, and it works great.
