Tech Level: 4/5
Ownership: 4/5
Rating: 3/5It has it's downsides.
Pros: Fast, clear, and very crisp printing. It scans quickly with great scan quality even at the lowest setting. Over-all sleek design. Multiple-feed scanning is a great feature.
Cons: Paper jams constantly, but it is easy to correct.
Very small paper tray, and the lower paper tray is tricky to load properly- it never feels like it's all the way in. Sometimes the paper drops onto the floor if the printing-catcher-tray-thingy is not pulled out all the way. (very technical terms, I know)
Always loses the Network connection to PC when it shuts down or if the PC is restarted. My co-workers and I are constantly reconnecting the Officejet 4620 to the Network even after just using it! Lately, the USB sometimes fails to connect automatically, as well.
It comes with a VERY short USB cable that won't even reach to the back of my PC.
Other Thoughts: I like this machine, I work around it's quirks. We do not use it for faxing. Some of the settings are annoying to navigate, they should have bundled some of the categories together for quicker browsing. All in all it's a great printer if you can work around the connection issues and the constant paper jams.

Rating: 5/5Not too bad
Pros: Small size! Surprisingly it is not a very tall printer at all. Depth is not bad either. Wasn't too bad to setup overall. Says it prints at 8ppm, but I can say that may be at normal print quality. In draft mode, it really spits out the pages. Quality is not bad at all in draft either, so for generic/everyday printing that will do fine, and save you ink. Cartridges are decently sized (4 total) and they have XL versions available.
O.M.G. It comes with a USB Cable!!!!!! lol
Decent copying, fax works, has sheet feed for both fax and copy modes.
Cons: No hardware LAN. Wireless LAN requires use of a USB cable to initially configure and setup the wireless connectivity. You are not able to connect to a wireless network from the control panel via a search and connect as you would expect. Despite that small annoyance, the setup wasn't that bad. The CD walked you right through it. It connects to the printer via its unique id, rather than an IP address, which is good. Most newer printers do that, so no worries about different IP changes mucking it up later.
Small input tray. Holds maybe 25 or so pages at a time. Did print on 80lb paper, but I wouldn't recommend using a lot of that size on a printer of this level. The output tray is right above the in tray, and both don't leave a lot of room to work with paper, etc. You have to flip out panels to catch outgoing paper, and flip them back to make it easier to install blank paper.
Other Thoughts: Faxing either sent or received, generates reports. I disabled this manually so it didn't waste ink or paper every time I receive or send a fax.
Cartridges took approximately 5 minutes or so to prime during setup. It prints off a page which you then have to lay on the scanner to have it check the alignment.
For its use, this is perfect. Works fine, setup overall was fine and everyone is happy with it. Worth 5 stars in my opinion, and I have setup a LOT of HP printers over the years.
